tvN Mon-Tues Drama Military Prosecutor Doberman Takes its Title Too Literally and Releases Off Putting Posters that Don’t Do Ahn Bo Hyun and Jo Boa Justice

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The upcoming tvN Mon-Tues drama Military Prosecutor Doberman tried so hard to be cute to its title but it really backfired for me in luring me in. The first posters above show Ahn Bo Hyun and Jo Boa split-face with two different personas. Her other persona screams German rave party girl but his other persona is a literal doberman. It … Continue reading →

I loved horror movies as a kid and teens, no thanks to older siblings that loved it and ergo it was on TV and forced upon me. But it was cool to develop that appetite because a good horror feels tingly, cathartic, and adds to the greater understanding of cinema and storytelling. Not everything is a feel good romance, yeah? … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Streaming service Disney+ is apparently still hemorrhaging viewers in South Korea, due to the lack of comparably large body of works and also nothing super popular with any new projects. But the company is big enough to subsidize a long term investment in the market even if it keeps losing money for the time being, the most net connected country … Continue reading →

tvN Sat-Sun Drama Bulgasal Ends Underwhelming Run this Sunday and Leaves K-netizens Confused and Offended by the Decision to Subtitle Lee Joon’s Dialogue at a Pivotal Ending Scene

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I don’t know what brain trust at tvN post-production decided this was a good idea, but on the positive side it may have inadvertently gotten more publicity for this underwhelming and comparatively low rated drama. This Sunday was the final episode of Bulgasal which plenty has been written about how it was so expensive to make and the reception as … Continue reading →

I remember when all those Taiwanese actors and actresses I loved were just late teens to early twenties young adults when they filmed those cracktastic idol dramas like Prince Turned into Frog, It Started with a Kiss, Fated to Love You, Devil Beside You, and so many more. Now that whole crew is mostly married, some with kid(s), and all … Continue reading →

I love me a reunion but this recent trend will hopefully not continue because it is a teensy bit squicky. And then my drama watching memory kicked in and I … Continue reading →

K-actress Park Bo Young is looking ahead in 2022 with a new K-drama and hopefully it will wash away the lackluster picks of her most recent dramas Doom at Your Service and Abyss. SBS Rom-com A Business Proposal with Ahn Hyo Seob and Kim Se Jung Deliver Lackluster Drama Poster But Redeems on More Vibrant Stills and Preview

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m hoping for a Dali and the Cocky Prince redux here with SBS rom-com A Business Proposal (Office Blind Date), namely really crappy posters and previews but a winning and charming light romance story when it airs. The above official drama poster could not be less interesting if it tried, even a fan spliced drama could be better. It’s a … Continue reading →
