Crack is wack, chingus! This 1980’s slogan is perfect for SBS drama Lovers of the Red Sky (Hong Chun Gi) which wrapped up this week from its wild run. What was a promising sageuk devolved gradually into a crazier and poorly acted near farce by the end. The plot was a one track pony and the behavior of all the … Continue reading →
This looks like the swan song pictorial in terms of what Kim Ji Won‘s existing agency lined up for her. She’s in the pages of Arena Homme Korea for November 2021 and I quite like the slightly aloof vibe she gives off complete with the extra straight hair. With this pictorial which came out last week, today came the news … Continue reading →
Going to military service for male K-stars can either be a two year long cosplay as an ordinary dude or for some in the entertainment service division then a chance to bring the star power to a new stage. Park Bo Gum enlisted in the navy and was assigned to the naval performance division, which is in charge of programming … Continue reading →
Okay, 2022 in K-drama will definitely be off to a good start if this drama anchors January as one of the first arrivals. What did we do to deserve the drama gods casting two of Yeouido’s top young acting movie stars in the same drama, and reuniting them to boot. Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi have been filming … Continue reading →
Well the second wave is here and this is turning into the Kim Hyun Joong scandal all over again, in the sense that it’s a reveal, then a statement, following up tabloid expose and so on and so forth. I will not be surprised if there is another K-ent news article next from the ex-girlfriend’s side contradicting and refuting this … Continue reading →
The key to a successful relationship is striking a contact balance of work and personal life, and I remember reading that Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young will never do a drama or movie at the same time, when one works the other is not working to both take care of the kids and also to be there for the … Continue reading →
Expectation will be this drama’s best friend if it succeeds and it has a chance. Upcoming tvN sageuk drama Secret Royal Inspector Joy is giving off full blown comedy vibes, physical, verbal, and supremely silly especially in a sageuk setting almost like a fish out of water. There was the same vibe in the first few episodes of Queen Cheorin … Continue reading →
I’m neither surprised nor have any strong thoughts about this other than how awkward it’s going to be if he wins. Scandal ridden K-actor Kim Sun Ho is currently leading the votes on the male star side of the upcoming 2021 Asia Artist Awards. It’s one of the less prestigious and relatively newer awards on the circuit but has been … Continue reading →
Seems like the positives are outweighing the negatives with newly premiered tvN weekend drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri), The second episode broke 10% ratings to net 10.663%, the second fastest to break 10% for any cable drama and the highest second episode ratings for any cable drama. Previously it was Encounter (Boyfriend) while Goblin, Mr. Sunshine and The World of the … Continue reading →
Here’s to another one biting the dust, and this time for an actual crime so at least fan apologists can’t try to downplay the behavior. Famous Chinese classical pianist Li Yun Di, who has mainstream success and is called the Piano Prince for his young age, talent, and clean cut looks, was arrested and detained by the Beijing Chaoyang District … Continue reading →
Oooooh pass me the popcorn now chingus! This is the type of shady beef I love because no harm done and just lots of juicy industry cattiness. Yesterday was the Saturday premiere of tvN action suspense drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri) which set a new premiere ratings record for the weekend time slot in terms of cable dramas. I saw the … Continue reading →
This weekend is the premiere of new tvN Sat-Sun drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri) and boy was it a rollercoaster in K-ent during the week day before due to the scandal from the male lead of the previous drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Whatever the reason, it’s time to delve into the world of mountaineering and mountain rescue and Jirisan grabbed … Continue reading →
Okay, I know Song Hye Kyo is a much bigger star that Jang Ki Yong but this latest preview for SBS drama Now, We are Breaking Up makes it feel like a one-woman show. Sure he’s the male lead but all we see are her angst and emotions, he comes across as a cipher or perhaps the “boyfriend” character that … Continue reading →
