The key to a successful relationship is striking a contact balance of work and personal life, and I remember reading that Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young will never do a drama or movie at the same time, when one works the other is not working to both take care of the kids and also to be there for the … Continue reading →
Expectation will be this drama’s best friend if it succeeds and it has a chance. Upcoming tvN sageuk drama Secret Royal Inspector Joy is giving off full blown comedy vibes, physical, verbal, and supremely silly especially in a sageuk setting almost like a fish out of water. There was the same vibe in the first few episodes of Queen Cheorin … Continue reading →
I’m neither surprised nor have any strong thoughts about this other than how awkward it’s going to be if he wins. Scandal ridden K-actor Kim Sun Ho is currently leading the votes on the male star side of the upcoming 2021 Asia Artist Awards. It’s one of the less prestigious and relatively newer awards on the circuit but has been … Continue reading →
Seems like the positives are outweighing the negatives with newly premiered tvN weekend drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri), The second episode broke 10% ratings to net 10.663%, the second fastest to break 10% for any cable drama and the highest second episode ratings for any cable drama. Previously it was Encounter (Boyfriend) while Goblin, Mr. Sunshine and The World of the … Continue reading →
Here’s to another one biting the dust, and this time for an actual crime so at least fan apologists can’t try to downplay the behavior. Famous Chinese classical pianist Li Yun Di, who has mainstream success and is called the Piano Prince for his young age, talent, and clean cut looks, was arrested and detained by the Beijing Chaoyang District … Continue reading →
Oooooh pass me the popcorn now chingus! This is the type of shady beef I love because no harm done and just lots of juicy industry cattiness. This weekend is the premiere of new tvN Sat-Sun drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri) and boy was it a rollercoaster in K-ent during the week day before due to the scandal from the male lead of the previous drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Whatever the reason, it’s time to delve into the world of mountaineering and mountain rescue and Jirisan grabbed … Continue reading →
Okay, I know Song Hye Kyo is a much bigger star that Jang Ki Yong but this latest preview for SBS drama Now, We are Breaking Up makes it feel like a one-woman show. Sure he’s the male lead but all we see are her angst and emotions, he comes across as a cipher or perhaps the “boyfriend” character that … Continue reading →
This is so unprofessional and such a reminder of the abuse of power by those high up in the entertainment industry disguised as “art”. Rising K-actress Han So Hee got a big career boost this month with the release of the Netflix drama My Name which is doing well on the viewing charts and she also got good reviews from … Continue reading →
It feels like a past life almost to hear this drama series back in the news but it’s ripe timing for a new generation to get to experience it. C-ent has announced a new Chinese Paladin drama series called Sword and Fairy, based on the 6th generation of the popular RPG online Xianxia game. The original CP was based on … Continue reading →
Somewhere the drama gods are laughing down on this drama, and I’m actually neither mad or sad but enjoying the off the rails ride at this point. Lovers of the Red Sky hasn’t just gone off the deep end in terms of the most nonsensical plot and character behavior I’ve seen in any drama in a long time, it’s also … Continue reading →
The week is coming to a close and it feels like this place and all over K-ent it’s been all about K-actor Kim Sun Ho. That’s unavoidable as his scandal and subsequent fallout was indeed a big deal in the industry and he also had a boisterous and active fanbase so this news was everywhere. This may be the last … Continue reading →
KBS rom-com drama Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) has turned into the opposite of SBS drama Lovers of the Red Sky, and I’m not talking about the genres. It feels comparable solely because I am watching both intently and this week both hit the farthest ends of opposite spectrums – Red Sky fell off a cliff … Continue reading →
