I know folks think this was already all set but clearly nothing is confirmed until it is. jTBC just announced that Son Ye Jin has signed on for its 2022 women-centric drama Thirty Nine, which will have her starring with Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun as a trio of best friends and successful ladies navigating the loves and … Continue reading →
I will not forget to add Doom at Your Service (One Day, Destruction Came to My Door) to my ongoing list of worst drama of 2021, now that it has ended and indeed did not have a magical revival in the final episode in a final redemption hurrah. What it did have is apparently a writer still shitting rainbows and … Continue reading →
Ooooh, actual pressure, I love it! tvN Sat-Sun female empowerment plus makjang rich people drama Mine ended its successful run this past weekend, with the final episode 16 getting 10.512% ratings. 2021 has been tvN’s year in the Sat-Sun time slot, in previous years they got competition from jTBC but this year every single weekend drama from tvN has been … Continue reading →
Quarantine during COVID-19 has taught me that as much as being able to lay on the bed or sofa as much as I want, it’s still not good for one’s motivation or waist line to do so. But if I looked as chic and gorgeous as Song Hye Kyo does doing that activity I may be inclined to keep going … Continue reading →
At this point I applaud the remaining viewers sticking with Doom at Your Service (One Day, Destruction Came to My Door), though it isn’t a lot of people as the ratings dropped again in this Monday’s second to last episode 15 to 2.334%. That’s about half of the highest point ratings and perhaps the best part of this drama was … Continue reading →
Methinks the same-sex female fans of K-dramas and movies have a certain style, and it’s pretty consistent even through the years. There is a new poll of lesbian viewers of K-ent and their favorite actresses, which is always interesting because it’s like asking what’s your dish verses simply who looks ideally pretty or cool. The #1 pick is Kim Tae … Continue reading →
The summer time look has one element that consists of wet and/or messy hair like you just got out the ocean 30 minutes ago and hastily donned a land lubber outfit. It’s not my favorite look as it’s hard to pull off, one has to look a million bucks so that the flat hair doesn’t drag down the vibe. Park … Continue reading →
This is admitting a super shallow task but still worth polling what viewers think. Song Joong Ki recently finished hit drama Vincenzo where he got praise for acting and for his incredibly handsome visuals. He’s always been a looker since his debut and recently he was asked to pick the performance he believes to be his own visual pinnacle/top. Song … Continue reading →
It’s one of the mysteries of K-drama land where a precocious and adorable child star will after the time jump turn into the male or female lead who looks nothing alike. I mean, pre-teen Yeo Jin Gu turned into 25-year old Kim Soo Hyun in The Moon Embraces the Sun and today Yeo Jin Gu is himself 25-years old in … Continue reading →
The list of models turned actor in the last decade in South Korea is aplenty but the top undoubtedly remains Kim Woo Bin followed by Ryu Jun Yeol. Towards the bottom there are quite a few more conventionally handsome tall hunks who are less nuanced and adept at acting, and yet I just have a soft spot for them. I … Continue reading →
Not every cable network drama is a sure winner and this year jTBC has now had two high profile missteps. First with Sisyphus: The Myth and now the newly arrived Saturday college messed up romance Nevertheless. The first episode started of with an okay 2.2% ratings and this week’s second episode dropped precipitously to 1.3%. For a cable drama that … Continue reading →
Okay, this story is making mainstream papers and really hitting a nerve so worth delving into. Last week the latest period fantasy C-drama (xianxia genre which means gods and wuxia combined) Ancient Love Poetry was released starring Zhou Dong Yu and Xu Kai. This is her first period C-drama role and she’s playing a mythical goddess in those typical xianxia … Continue reading →
I love a fast and fun heist money, even ones that are not perfect can still deliver a worthwhile two hours of entertainment. A big budget star studded one is coming soon from Netflix which is also expanding its Korean movie production and this one sounds fantastic! The streaming giant is funding the production of Seoul Vibe (Seoul Battle) and … Continue reading →
