A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I don’t think jTBC was expecting Saturday mature college romance drama Nevertheless to do gangbuster ratings but the webtoon was popular and a drama adaption ought to be a little bit more resonant with viewers. But alas the ratings continue to decrease though it’s just a little drop in episode 3 to 1.173%, and the network probably will be happy … Continue reading →

Viewers Are Hate-watching Season 3 of SBS Mega Makjang Drama Penthouse as It Keeps Jumping the Shark

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

If I thought the SBS hit drama Penthouse was a makjang fest from the beginning clearly the screenwriter was all “hold my beer” and primed to keep one upping herself in crazy/bizarre/absurd plot developments. Season 2 was a bigger hit that season 1 with extra high ratings but now season 3 has dropped off a ratings cliff thanks to the … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I love seeing an award winning screenwriter take the time before churning out another work. Deep and meaningful writing is hard to produce commercially and I like that My Ahjusshi and Another Oh Hae Young screenwriter Park Hae Young has taken a nearly three year gap before coming back with a new work. The drama is titled My Liberation Diary … Continue reading →

One of the most enjoyable similar themed dramas was Bring It On, Ghost! with Kim So Hyun and Taecyeon many years ago and this feels like the right pairing for a drama that is primed to bring the same cute and slightly scary energy. First Official Stills of Kim Go Eun in the K-drama Adaptation of Popular Webtoon Yumi’s Cells

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the first chapters of webtoon Yumi’s Cells, which I checked out when I heard it was getting a K-drama adaptation. There are so many webtoons out there that I don’t have time to wade through the detritus but the ones that get drama versions are usually pretty good. The unfortunate shades to the concept … Continue reading →
