Well this is a breath of much needed air. Upcoming jTBC Wed-Thurs drama Monthly House was sailing on the side of my peripheral watch list but has scooted smack in the middle thanks to a slew of right up my alley promos. The teaser clinched it, so much rom-com perfection made even better thanks to leads Kim Ji Suk and … Continue reading →
The cool sounding upcoming Netflix produced K-drama Glitch is adding to the cast around confirmed female lead Jeon Yeo Bin. She will be joined by Nana and Lee Dong Hwi, in what is billed as a weird, comedic, sci-fi drama about a woman searching for her long time boyfriend who disappeared in a haze of strange lights. I’m glad Nana … Continue reading →
This is what I call a great great ancillary drama promotion tie in. Netflix is truly on a roll, picking up great K-drama picks to stream and pouring money and effort into promoting it. Last week the exclusive new series Move to Heaven dropped about a team who cleans up the belongings of people who have passed away. This week … Continue reading →
The Sat-Sun time slot remains tvN‘s most high profile and where it puts all the big name cast dramas, so right now there is Mine with Lee Bo Young and Kim Seo Hyung and funnily enough that drama will be followed by Lee Bo Young‘s real life hubby Ji Sung‘s upcoming The Devil Judge (Demon Judge). Mine feels like a … Continue reading →
J-actress Aragaki Yui has a nickname as “The Nation’s Wife” in that all men dream of her being his wifey. So J-actor Hoshino Gen is already public enemy number 1 now that he’s married Gakki but it may get even worse and even her female fans are going to fault him for what may come. J-ent is reporting that Aragaki … Continue reading →
Another scandalous saga has come to an end and good news for the only victims in this case, the two innocent kids. C-stars Zhang Heng and Zheng Shuang secretly got married in the US and then secretly hired two separate surrogates to carry their babies. Then things fell apart between them and the two are in divorce proceedings with the … Continue reading →
My nearly 3 month long Wed-Thurs date with Lee Seung Gi is over, and zero regrets with the time spent. Unlike some of his stupider drama choices (*cough* Vagabond *cough*) this time tvn drama Mouse was too smart for its own good. It was like a math student who got the answer early on then trying to question and outthink … Continue reading →
JAW. DROP. Ok, I’m not sure what will top this for shocking dating/marriage reveal of 2021 but the bar has been set. The entirety of Wednesday in Japanese entertainment news was dominated by the announcement of marriage by 40 year old singer-actor Hoshino Gen and 32 year old actress Aragaki Yui. Like, in real life. Five years after the entire … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly an interesting ride to sit in the backseat on. SBS Fri-Sat drama Taxi Driver has been a solid medium-ish hit for the network, with ratings starting out at 8.7%, 10.7% and the most recent episode 12 getting 10.7%, 15.3%. I thought it would go up more after the promising start but there is still a chance … Continue reading →
I guess the denials from Han So Hee‘s agency about her being the leading lady of upcoming OCN supernatural thriller drama Island were indeed true because a few days later and we now indeed have a new lead and it’s not her. K-actress Lee Da Hee will be taking over the role vacated by Seo Ye Ji after her swift … Continue reading →
There are many levels and nuances to “bad”, which is why its such a great adjective with contextual flourish. Recently wrapped MBC Wed-Thurs drama Oh My Ladylord (Oh! Master) has now garnered widespread feedback as a terrible, no good, baaaaaad drama. But what kind of bad is it is what I, a non-viewer, am curious to know. So bad it’s … Continue reading →
Well this will put naysayers and conspiracy theorists to rest (I hope). The 2021 Baeksangs Awards released tons of behind the scenes information related to the voting for the winners and hold your horses because this stuff is super illuminating. Yoo Jae Suk was given the Daesang with 6 votes in the fast voting time this year in any category, … Continue reading →
Woah, I wasn’t expecting a leading lady casting this quickly and also did not expect this particular one. Yoona will be joining Lee Jong Seok in the upcoming legal drama Big Mouth, which will be the first time they are working together and probably about time. Both are top of the small list of drama leads in their age group … Continue reading →
