I keep getting Lawless Lawyer vibes from the promos for Vincenzo, and both being from tvN and featured out-of-the-box lawyers perhaps that’s the reason. The promo visuals aren’t copying anything but the intense savvy male lead played by Song Joong Ki and the cool capable female lead by Jeon Yeo Bin just reminds me of that awesome OTP dynamic from … Continue reading →
I’m banking jTBC Wed-Thurs drama Run On for later to binge, I watched the first two episodes and liked it enough but it wasn’t immediate crack addiction for me plus it seems like the perfect drama to mosey through on a quiet weekend. All I hope for is the drama not falling apart in the end but there is one … Continue reading →
K-actor Namgong Min is on roll, he rolled from Stove League into Awaken (Night and Day) and is rolling onto his next drama Black Sun. The drama is around the NIS targeted organized crime, with Namgong Min playing a top NIS agent. Now K-ent is reporting that actress Park Ha Sun is in talks for the female lead, and while … Continue reading →
I not only want this movie to be good I really hope it does well. Too bad we won’t ever know what type of traditional box office it would have brought in but if it starts trending on Netflix that will be good news enough. Sci-fi Korean movie Space Sweepers (Spaceship Victory) drops this weekend on Netflix worldwide, finally meeting … Continue reading →
A new K-drama is in the works and will be streamed solely on TVing, the Korean online platform. It’s called Welcome to Witch’s Restaurant (Come to Witch’s Restaurant) based on an award winning short story submitted to a writing contest. It tells of a witch running a restaurant that can grant wishes which in turn heals those who eat there. … Continue reading →
Ugh, so many feels! Every time I see a new preview for upcoming KBS sageuk River Where the Moon Rises it’s just a tidal wave of drama addict adrenaline fuel injected into my veins. It’s been a quiet few years since a really crack sageuk has dropped, probably not since Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and even then it doesn’t have … Continue reading →
K-ent and likely K-netizens is turning the Hyun Bin–Son Ye Jin relationship into a fervent wish for these two perfectly paired pretties to get married. It’s like in Answer Me 1988 during the secret santa game and if two people got each other then the chants of “gyeolhon ae!” start. I’m happy for them and hearing some speculation of marriage … Continue reading →
The new year in 2021 brings lots of unknowns in every aspect but for K-pop I’m excited to see what’s in store in terms of really catch tunes. Last year due to stay at home life I was able to catch up on nearly a decade worth of K-pop songs whether club tunes or ballads in order to refresh my … Continue reading →
Normally a drama is done with 16-episodes but we’ve got 4 more to go with Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) and I’m also finally ready to share that weird feeling I’ve had where I like the drama but don’t love it. It’s truly entertaining taken in segmented scenes but as a whole just doesn’t coalesce because a really gripping sageuk builds … Continue reading →
We’re turning the corner into February 2021 so that means upcoming jTBC drama Sisyphus: The Myth premieres in two weeks on the 17th. New posters and teasers are out and this drama production is really dropping tons of goodies for eager fans anticipating this series. From watching television shows and movies (too much) and reading mangas (even more), this drama … Continue reading →
There is a Chinese saying 人红是非多 which means a popular (famous) person has many controversies. Case in point Park Eun Seok, who before SBS drama Penthouse where he played a supporting role that got a lot of audience popularity, was just a no-name struggling actor. After he shot to name recognition with Penthouse, he was cast on variety I Live … Continue reading →
After 5 episodes in the 12% ratings, with two episodes getting north of 13%, it feels like Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) has finally broken through both in the ratings game and in the narrative. Episode 15 got a whopping 14.534% and there are still 5 more episodes left to see if it can fulfill the early on potential when it premiered … Continue reading →
So I’m going to need reader feedback on this because I am not watching either of these two dramas. Not purposely avoiding but it’s just not (yet) on my watch list. L (Kim Myung Soo) and later arrival Cha Eun Woo have universally gotten praise for their insane near perfectly chiseled good looks. One would have to be blind to … Continue reading →
