K-actress Park Bo Young has announced that she’s taking a hiatus from the entertainment industry and thankfully it’s not too serious it sounds like. She’s been dealing for years now with an injured wrist area and has decided to put it on cast for 6 months for it to properly heal. She’ll not be working during this time and will … Continue reading →
I’m not sure SBS Fri-Sat drama Vagabond was done in by the several preemptions so far during it’s entire run due to baseball games. But it certainly didn’t help and now SBS is scrapping this entire weekend of new episodes so the final two episodes will air next Fri-Sat starting November 22nd. It’s a pretty ignominious end for a drama … Continue reading →
The drama title is Woman of 9.9 Billion but it’s accurately Woman of 9.9 Billion Won, and that makes it roughly 9 million USD and boy is there a difference in three zeros missing. It’s still a crap load of money and what female lead Jo Yeo Jung does with her unexpected largess seems to be hiding it and causing … Continue reading →
All perfect things inevitably show their mortality, who is ever fully perfect yes, and in week 7 the episodes of The Tale of Nokdu kinda thump softly on the ground of reality. The sweetness of a cute story of a cross-dressing boy who meets the love of his life has descended from those light airy days to the seriousness of … Continue reading →
I love Ha Ji Won and Yoon Kye Sang but I had a third reason to check out their upcoming jTBC melodrama Chocolate and that would be Jang Seung Jo. He’s made so many memorable and poignant supporting lead performances in the last two years and is showing his nuanced talent even in this just released character poster where so … Continue reading →
If the goal of MBC drama People With Flaws is to highlight the flaws in such obvious ways as to make me already loathe the two lead characters then this tactic is succeeding. The latest two posters join the first one released, all showing leads Ahn Jae Hyun and Oh Yeon Seo being annoying to each other. What’s with the … Continue reading →
One of the OG girl groups got back together this weekend straight from a scene in Best Love. Of course Yoon Eun Hye jumped out at me since she’s the only one I really know from Baby V.O.X., which was active from 1997-2006 and before Yoon Eun Hye became more famous as an actress. The entire group was quite popular … Continue reading →
It’s been a bad year of publicity for K-pop boy group Big Bang most notably around member Seungri. Maybe that will change now that three of his group members have successively returned from military service and perchance the group promotes again. G-Dragon finished his service two weeks ago and this week Taeyang and Daesung were discharged together. If I thought … Continue reading →
At this point I don’t realistically know what is going on in Vagabond because nothing is rooted an iota in reality. But that’s what is fueling me to keep going because we are two episodes from the end and also the ridiculousness is entertaining. I’m just waiting for Suzy to turn out to be the Big Bad and Lee Seung … Continue reading →
I won’t be surprised if this holiday season will see lots of Kim Soo Hyun CFs. It’s his first year back from military service and there’s a gap in the top young actors segment with a drop in hits from Song Joong Ki, Lee Min Ho not yet back with a new drama, Kim Woo Bin still on health hiatus … Continue reading →
This might not be the best time to announce a new drama for Suzy, because even as her fan she is really really miscast and bad and just got a badly written character on top of it all in her currently airing drama Vagabond. But then I hear what’s she’s doing next and I feel a glimmer of hope because … Continue reading →
The quiet sadness of a Lee Kyung Hee penned melodrama is one her most consistent and defining styles. It’s hard to create that aura since sad stuff happening usually comes across way more intense but her dramas manage to have super sad stuff that happens to the leads but lets us watch their quiet inner struggles. There will be tears … Continue reading →
I still remain impressed that there are ladies out there willing to suffer and endure in silence as their man pursues an entertainment career telling the world he’s single. Most famous being Wu Zun‘s high school sweetheart and wife and James Wen and his nearly 20-year long relationship kept under wraps. That’s quite a lot of trust and stoic silence … Continue reading →
