K-actor Song Joong Ki has a new sidekick for the upcoming K-movie Bogota and it’s none other than Jo Hyun Chul who has been doing memorable turns in small and now medium supporting roles in tvN dramas. He was the programmer in Memories of Alhambra supporting Binnie from the command center in Seoul and presently the patient and kind hyung … Continue reading →
The casting is on a one-two punch speed and I’m oddly liking the leads chosen. Rising young actress Kim Bora is in talks to be the titular K-drama version of Jane the Virgin, which will place her opposite confirmed male lead Jaejoong. K-netizens seem to have a bone to pick with her based on her SNS profile, updates, and personal … Continue reading →
This boy is mine fine, right? I mean, K-actor Yoo Seung Ho was already adorbs times a million but now he’s adding bad boy sexy to his repertoire and I need to take a moment to close my slightly ajar jaw. I didn’t like his last drama My Strange Hero but stuck with it nearly to end just for him, … Continue reading →
When I say the movie title Soul Mate it sounds so generic and I’m not sure if many readers know which movie I am referring to. The original Chinese language title is so much more intimate Qi Yue Yu An Sheng (七月与安生), referring to the names of the two girls turned women of this movie. It’s a movie about two … Continue reading →
My long time fave Moon Geun Youn is returning to drama land at the end of the summer and has picked an interested and rather unflashy project with tvN investigative drama Catch the Ghost. The title is a pun on her character’s name Yoo Ryung which also means ghost/spirit, so I don’t think there is anything supernatural in this story … Continue reading →
Now this is what I call a crack casting, something that either feels like it should have happened before or is long overdue. I had to google their filmography to make sure they haven’t worked together before, such is the weird sense of deja vu. Upcoming jTBC drama Inside Stories of Prosecutors (Prosecutor Civil War) has lined up Lee Seon … Continue reading →
Three time will once again be the charm, I’m confident of it, with the reported reunion of K-actor Jo In Sung with his now drama muse screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung. Or maybe he’s her muse, because the two have done two well-received dramas together already and is in talks for another collaboration. They first worked together in That Winter, the … Continue reading →
I’m not gonna lie, it’s still surreal that K-actor Kang Ji Hwan’s career is effectively over AND he’s likely going to jail as a sex offender for rape and sexual assault. He deserves it all since he’s confessed but it does leave a slew of dramas and movies I can’t rewatch and a nasty feeling of admiring him for his … Continue reading →
The summer months are more than halfway over and hopefully the heat hasn’t melted anyone yet. The South Korean box office hasn’t been sizzling for the local fare other than the award winning social commentary film Parasite but next weeks comes a potential hit with Divine Fury, putting two pretty boys Park Seo Joon and Woo Do Hwan with veteran … Continue reading →
K-actor Kim Woo Bin turned 30 years old (31 in Korean age) last week on July 16th and it wasn’t a big media deal since he’s still on entertainment hiatus from medical recovery with cancer. It’s been two years since and this year has been rumors of his comeback a few times but nothing confirmed. A new picture was shared … Continue reading →
The story of Jane the Virgin got the most publicity after the US show a few years ago but it was first adapted in Venezuela and based on a source novel. It’s always got a latino flavor and cultural background but now South Korea is giving it a go with cable network Channel A readying a drama adaptation for later … Continue reading →
Oh man, this show is totally aiming to cute viewers to death. SBS released the first official stills from variety program Little Forest and all I see are Jung So Min hugging kids and Lee Seung Gi‘s brilliant smile. The show puts five K-stars in the South Korean countryside as they run an organic and environmentally friendly daycare. My two … Continue reading →
It can actually go both ways, Yeo Jin Gu‘s modern day hotel manager character in Hotel Del Luna could be the reincarnation of IU‘s romantic interest from her humanly life in the Gorguyeo era or just someone seeing their memories but exists to help her left go now by making her fall in love again. I wasn’t fully onboard with … Continue reading →
