This was definitely a planned wedding, and hoo boy what planning must have taken place to undertake an entire weekend of festivities in Vienna, Austria for Chinese acting couple Tang Yan and Luo Jin and their closest friends and family. The end of October wedding extravaganza for the onscreen drama and offscreen now-married couple is complete with official wedding pictures … Continue reading →
There’s probably a joke somewhere about a taxi driver, a priest, and a cop walking into a place together, but for OCN thriller drama The Guest it just means they are about to kick some supernatural baddie’s arse back to the depths of hell. The drama was excellent from beginning to end and honestly I can’t recommend it enough, even … Continue reading →
Joynews has been a busy bee doing not just one but two drama polls in recent days. The first was the Best and Worst Dramas of 2018 poll of industry insiders, and now comes the same group asked about which onscreen drama couple is the best this year. The voters cast the most votes for the noona-dongsaeng romance of Jung … Continue reading →
Two weeks prior to the epic fashion debacle at the Salvatore Ferragamo event, a bunch of top K-stars did the opposite in a rare occasion of stepping out in various pretty and different fashion looks at the Alexander McQueen event in mid-October. It was a total win when normally it’s hard to even find one good fashion look among K-celebs. … Continue reading →
As a lifelong shoujo manga fan the poster for upcoming K-drama Clean With Passion For Now totally hits my squee spot. It’s a carbon copy of a cover from one of the manhwa chapters but the leads Yoon Kyun Sang and Kim Yoo Jung are nailing it (selling it) in the exact way I crave for a live-action adaptation. Don’t … Continue reading →
This is an interesting poll and I find myself agreeing with most of the selections with a few deviations. Joynews polled 200 Korean drama industry insiders to vote for their best and worst dramas of 2018, which admitted hasn’t ended yet with a few more high profile dramas to air. But the poll results more or less reflect the quality … Continue reading →
The posters and teasers for KBS Wed-Thurs drama Feel Good to Die actually look good but I’m not terribly optimistic about the drama getting high ratings. Recent office dramas have been middling to flops and this one looks a tad too quirky. The drama posters are super fun, one with the leads Kang Ji Hwan in Baek Jin Hee‘s arms … Continue reading →
This is such a sad story and one I doubt would get any coverage in English-language publications and I feel compelled to give this lovely actress her due. Former HK-actress Yammie Lam (Lan Jie Ying in Mandarin) was found dead in her home on November 1, 2018 a full two days after she died, alone and without family or friends … Continue reading →
Now this is what I called a bravo effort for a K-drama teaser! The first preview is out for tvN romance Encounter(Korean title Boyfriend) starring high profile A-list leads Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo and their involvement isn’t wasted as the production dropped a gorgeous and gloriously stylized teaser. Set in the location shoot scenes in Cuba, the … Continue reading →
It’s the second week airing for KBS W fantasy drama That Time When Time Stops and it seemed to have aired to crickets hence I didn’t get around to writing about it. The first episode which premiered last Wednesday got 0.1% ratings which is the lowest rating any drama can ever get short of 0%. Even noting that it’s on … Continue reading →
It’s a good fall 2018 for K-actor Hyun Bin, it’s probably the most jam packed project schedule I’ve ever seen from the actor who usually goes a long time between acting gigs. This fall he has three high profile releases, in September it was The Negotiation with Son Ye Jin where he played a baddie, then in October it’s the … Continue reading →
We may have a new ignominious winner of the worst dressed K-celeb star event this time thanks to the burn your eyeball pairing with Italian couture brand Salvatore Ferragamo. Of the four attendees idol-actres Krystal was by far the worst dressed and I reckon she was just given the Ferragomo outfit and told to put it on because it fit her … Continue reading →
I’m so sad to say goodbye to OCN Wed-Thurs spooky thriller drama The Guest but goodness does everyone need a break from the intensity and sadness. I think all the leads Kim Dong Wook, Kim Jae Wook, and Jung Eun Chae need counseling after doing this harrowing and emotionally draining drama, but seeing them happily buddying around during the filming … Continue reading →
