It’s the return of dorky Ji Sung! The first stills are out for Ji Sung in upcoming K-drama Knowing Wife (Familiar Wife), and he’s seen with a campaign sash handing out flyers. I say dorky is the vibe he gives off because of how they saddled him with the slightly ruffled modified bowl haircut. He looks so earnest and adorable, … Continue reading →
I’m glad that I can still get excited for a K-drama based on casting, I was feeling burnt out a few years ago but then found a new balance on how to keep watching dramas and write about it without it turning into a monotonous chore. That reset has kept the fire alive and it feels like a throwback to … Continue reading →
K-actor So Ji Sub has always skewed older to me, even when he was just starting out there was this more mature vibe likely due to his looks and an aura of sensitive melancholy. That makes the pairing for his next drama Terius Behind Me with rising young actress Jung In Sun all that more incongruous, unless he plays the … Continue reading →
The good promo trend continues as pretty official character posters are out for the soon-to-arrive 2018 Chinese and Taiwanese joint production remake of Meteor Garden from 2001. I love these tropical colored posters with the vibrant green and everyone looking their most darnest in portraying their iconic characters from the well known shoujo manga Hana Yori Dango (Boys Before Flowers). … Continue reading →
K-actor Park Seo Joon is on a career high right now thanks to the popular ratings hit tvN drama Why Secretary Kim. But his career has been on the upswing for years and he doesn’t even need to worry about a two year break interrupting the momentum because he’s already done his mandatory military service. This week a new poll … Continue reading →
In the history of bad K-drama casting decisions this is going to rank as one of top three no bueno ideas. K-ent is reporting that disgraced but planning an entertainment career comeback idol-actor Kim Hyun Joong has been cast in an upcoming cable drama. It’s a 12-episode fantasy story called You Whose Time Has Stopped and will be Kim Hyun … Continue reading →
So it really is happening, Lee Seung Gi–Suzy 2.0 has started with filming kicking off for fully pre-produced action thriller drama Vagabond. Lee Seung Gi posted an update on his Instagram account with a picture of him from the recent fan meeting, and the announcement that filming for Vagabond has started on June 25th with poster shoots and is scheduled … Continue reading →
Another week another K-drama starts filming. The upcoming SBS legal drama Dear Judge is basically mashing up recent dramas Switch with the lookalikes and masquerading identities with other dramas like Miss Hammurabi and Judge v. Judge with all that hotblooded judges fighting for justice angle. I wonder when this genre will burn out and the answer is probably never considering … Continue reading →
I’m triply stoked for the summer 2018 J-dorama season, and in general have enjoyed the last three dorama seasons with always one show I get hooked on to watch. Summer ’18 has three high profile top actresses with anticipated series coming – Ishihara Satomi gets to play the cultured straight woman in Takane no Hana as the refined ikebana (flower … Continue reading →
It’s a rare miss for poster making of a Kim Eun Sook penned high profile drama. Upcoming tvN period drama Mr. Sunshine released the first official poster today and it’s just awful. Featuring leads Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri, the poster captures the two placing a hand over the other person’s lower face clearly to ascertain their identity … Continue reading →
I love the picture of TW-actress Janine Chang above, she posted the black and white shot along with others of her attending the Tencent Streaming Awards this weekend. She’s hitting her stride in C-drama land with a succession of successful drama hits some of the most popular include The Empress of China, The Four, Tribes and Empires, and the recently … Continue reading →
The older we get the more likely there’s been a moment of “I wish” about an event in the past, a what if thought that our lives could have been different if we made a different choice. Ji Sung will get to dramatize that in upcoming tvN drama Knowing Wife (Familiar Wife) as an ordinary man married for 5 years … Continue reading →
Taiwanese electronic maker Asus has tapped K-actor Gong Yoo for its cellphone campaign and this weekend unveiled a new Zenfone 5 Gong Yoo special edition. He was in Taipei for the CF event and also got to celebrate his upcoming July 10th birthday early with a cake topped with a cute chibi Yoo figurine. He looked great other than his … Continue reading →
