The time is coming to send off yet another super popular Hallyu star to mandatory military service, but it’s not here just yet for Lee Min Ho contrary to latest news reports. K-ent started the week off with news that Lee Min Ho was enlisting in the military this March, a mere two months away and likely not enough time … Continue reading →
It’s tempered good news for MBC as the network debuted a new Mon-Tues drama, taking over for the very lowly rated Night Light on the third day of the Lunar New Year. Rebel: The Thief Who Stole the People managed to double Night Light’s average ratings but that’s not saying much since Night Light averaged around 3-4%. Rebel got 8.3% … Continue reading →
I’m not sure what went wrong but apparently the fallout, or feedback is lightning speed on this one. What could have been the first trendy buzzy K-drama to start off 2017 has turned out to be an early out of the gate potential flop, and there is swift response behind-the-scenes to salvage things. tvN‘s current Mon-Tues drama Introverted Boss (Sensitive … Continue reading →
The fun that was the Chanel couture show in Paris this past week didn’t just see the presence of top K-stars like Park Shin Hye and G-Dragon, there were also Chinese stars there to showcase their eclectic style. Singer-actor Vanness Wu posted snaps to his SNS alongside trendsetter G-Dragon and top Chinese model Liu Wen, with everyone rocking their own … Continue reading →
This weekend being Lunar New Year was a good thing, being so busy cooking and gathering helped ease the empty feeling of having no more weekend drama Goblin to chase. I’m glad screenwriter Kim Eun Sook kept it short and sweet at 16 episodes rather than her usual 20 episode length, there was even times when Goblin felt like not … Continue reading →
I can’t believe the time has come for me to want Kim Soo Hyun show up more in the media. He’s still plenty visible but the past year has seen a noticeable drop in his public appearances, pictorials, and endorsement campaigns. It’s clearly intentional as he’s still one of the most well known and popular Korean actors, but he had … Continue reading →
Once the genie is out of the bottle its hard to put it back in. Now that Kim Tae Hee and Rain‘s very private dating life has transformed into a public acknowledgement of their marriage, the media is all over them starting from the frenzy at the airport heading off to their Bali honeymoon. Section TV has even gone so … Continue reading →
Aside from the interminable but still happy holidays, early winter brings to mind for me a reckoning, not a negative endeavor but a moment to assess the highs and lows of the year about the pass. For an entertainer the success and failures can be quantified with ratings, box office, or sales receipts, but as an audience member there’s an … Continue reading →
With this week’s dating news one-two punch, Rain getting married to Kim Tae Hee and Joo Won dating BoA, it’s a stark reminder that there are really a lot of famous Korean stars that are in relationships more so than the usual pretending to be single for their fans. There are still some single eligible oppas and one very attractive … Continue reading →
Cable network tvN is taking a breather this weekend with its Fri-Sat time slot, following the conclusion of huge hit drama Goblin the follow up Tomorrow With You won’t air until next week February 3rd. Reason being this weekend is Lunar New Year, transitioning from the year of the monkey to the year of the rooster so the programming is … Continue reading →
Now this is much better, everything about Park Shin Hye is spot on as she was spotted this week in Paris for the Chanel couture show. She was decked out in head to toe Chanel, of course, and unlike her dress for the Bruno Magli event the prior week in Seoul, this time the ensemble was beautifully fitted for her. … Continue reading →
It’s a double happiness for actress-producer Ruby Lin on this January 27th, celebrating both Lunar New Year and her 41st birthday. Counting the birth of her daughter with husband Wallace Huo, this month of January has been a triple blessing for the eternally youthful looking star. She also doesn’t look like a woman who just gave birth three weeks ago, … Continue reading →
This upcoming period C-drama looks so bad it brings back memories of the hilarity of Go Princess Go, and then suddenly I’m more interested. It’s probably due to the costuming and same male lead in Sheng Yi Lun, as well as the equally ridiculous romance novel type of title of Oh My General, but this silly little C-drama has managed … Continue reading →
