No matter how Descendants of the Sun ends this coming week, I hope drama fans who have been watching along with me, and hopefully all enjoying it for whatever reasons, continue to have the faith to see it through the end. I’ve been posted the written ending spoilers for a few weeks now, the first coming out of China from … Continue reading →
With the three leads of the most recent installment of the Answer Me drama series from tvN all going on to be leads of soon-to-air prime time dramas, it’s still incredible how this series has created stars from relative unknowns or elevated talent to new levels of fame. From Answer Me 1998, Park Bo Gum is doing Moonlight Drawn From … Continue reading →
Remember that spoiler from a few weeks back coming out of China from a netizen claiming to have seen the ending to Descendants of the Sun? Since the drama is fully pre-produced, and the complete series submitted to China’s state agency for approval to air, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for spoilers to leak since clearly people … Continue reading →
The speed at which the Tzuyu holding a Taiwanese flag scandal blew up is still impressive for making a mountain out of a mole hill, but then the converse is now true as that tsunami receded in seemingly record time. It’s been two months and things are all peachy in JYP and it’s new girl group Twice land. Aside from the … Continue reading →
A good response to tabloid chatter is what I call “I’m so gorgeous and full of IDGAF attitude”, which is what C-actress Crystal Liu is rocking this week. On the heels of Chinese gossip that she’s broken up with K-actor Song Seung Heon, which his side refuted, Crystal was seen at a movie event with her movie costar Yang Yang … Continue reading →
Combining two of the most popular things is a sure fire method for success but I do worry about the overexposure and hype. Two of my darlings were nearly identical blue twins at the recent 2016 Style Icon Asia Awards, with both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum attending in blue suits with black shoes. Joong Ki went for … Continue reading →
Talking about making a striking and unforgettable impression on the biggest stage of her life. Rising HK model turned actress Janice Man attended last weekend’s Hong Kong Film Awards after being nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the gritty movie Helios. Normally the uber risque and wildly inappropriate awards show dressing is left to the lesser named actresses, and rarely … Continue reading →
My enthusiasm for jTBC fantasy sageuk drama Mirror of the Witch has been on a roller coaster ride since it was announced but has stabilized just in time to appreciate the first peeks at the drama. A well made fantasy sageuk is a rare find such as Joseon X-Files, or can be a hot mess like Records of the Night … Continue reading →
Excited is an understatement anticipating Ji Sung‘s drama land return in over a year since Kill Me Heal Me. He’s the primary reason the music industry drama Entertainer even looks interesting at all for me, him and a side of cutie pie Kang Min Hyuk. The female leads in Hyeri and Chae Jung Ahn are less exciting than watching Ji … Continue reading →
Congratulations with a side of complete and utter shock is in store for celebrity acting couple Gu Hye Sun and Ahn Jae Hyun. The recently gone public lovebirds are getting married! News broke early on Friday that the Blood costars are getting married, and like their quick confirmation of their dating news a few months ago, the two are once … Continue reading →
This felt like a boilerplate episode for Descendants of the Sun, confirming that the action moving back to Seoul has led to an odd sense of choppiness. Urk life was filled with disaster situation one after another but a confident narrative pace. The dangers lurking in Seoul for the intrepid leads are drama cookie cutter fare despite the big OMG moment … Continue reading →
Filming has started on upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Lucky Romance, and with it comes the confirmation as to the seconds leads who will be joining Hwang Jung Eum and Ryu Jun Yeol. It’s half of the rumored casting from last week – Lee Chung Ah will be the second female lead but the second male lead will be Lee Soo … Continue reading →
Two leading lady names, both currently very popular, yet it elicits opposing reactions from me. KBS is prepping romantic sageuk Moonlight Drawn by Clouds for Mon-Tues in late summer, airing in August after Beautiful Minds wraps up. Rising actor Park Bo Gum turned down Entertainer with Ji Sung to take this drama so hopefully it’ll be worth his while. As … Continue reading →
