Now this is what I call an interesting casting consideration, both for the production and for the actors in question. Jang Geun Seok has been offered the leading role in upcoming SBS Mon-Tues sageuk drama Daebak. The drama is slated to air in April following Six Flying Dragons, which remains the ratings leader for that time slot. If Jang Geun … Continue reading →
SBS is doing a slow burn type rollout with upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Please Come Back Ahjusshi. The network quietly released a teaser last week featuring the veterans Kim Soo Ro and Kim In Kwon playing the characters who go on to die and their souls get second chances in the body of leads Oh Yeon Seo and Rain, respectively. I … Continue reading →
A new year doesn’t mean only doing new things, there’s still plenty of reason to take a break for a nostalgic reunion. At the recent SETTV banquet awards, a few of my fave and fond Taiwan drama pairings made time to take pictures together to commemorate the happy encounter. There’s Lego Lee and Kirsten Jen, the popular leads of In a … Continue reading →
Ariel Lin continues to be a shining star for Taiwan entertainment, embodying plenty of positive traits from talented actress to charming star and now she can add budding fashion interviewer to the resume. Ariel was in NYC this previous September for the Coach Spring 2016 Fashion Show, herself a Coach spokesmodel in Taiwan as the brand continues to make inroads … Continue reading →
I think the We Got Married franchise ought to have perfected its brand of dedicated fanservice romance by now. With nearly a decade of selling mostly well selected star couplings, the show has branched out in global cross border editions (memorable pairings like Taecyeon–Gui Gui or Puff Guo–Heechul), and has now been licensed to China for its own version. Season … Continue reading →
Casting is complete for upcoming web drama Cinderella and Four Knights, and is way more promising that I initially thought. Thanks to locking down K-movie actress Park So Dam, this fluffy drama adaptation of a manhwa merits a look even if the rest of the cast is hit and miss. The male leads are Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun, … Continue reading →
With three more episodes left in Marry Me or Not, the drama remains primed to be one of the best and most beloved of all the TW-dramas I’ve watched. Quite a feat considering so many follow up works of actors and actresses I love never live up to quality expectations and end with me dropping the watch in disappointment. I’m … Continue reading →
Despite looking like a hot mess in the making, upcoming C-drama Ice Fantasy got the first decent looking aspect of the visuals in the guest staring presence of K-actress Kim Hee Sun. She’s done a C-movie before way back when in her early career days, and doesn’t seem to be jumping fully on the bandwagon train of Korean acting talent … Continue reading →
What a lovely reunion, made all the more special because of the longevity of the friendship and the charitable cause in question. The two leading ladies of the 2003 C-drama adaptation of wuxia novel Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre reunited this week to do a photoshoot for a children’s charity campaign that is near and dear to their hearts. A-list … Continue reading →
This is my fave Descendants of the Sun teaser so far, and it’s no surprise because it’s male lead Song Joong Ki focused and he’s the numero uno reason this drama is on my must watch list. Famed screenwriter Kim Eun Sook has been so hit-and-miss with her works that I don’t tuned in automatically for her, but her hits … Continue reading →
Burberry is an iconic British fashion house and Lee Jong Seok found a great fit in joining the celebs who rep the brand. I was wholly underwhelmed with his head-to-toe Burberry outfit from last October’s brand event in Seoul, but he’s redeemed himself and then some at last week’s Burberry fashion show held in London, England. Lee Jong Seok was … Continue reading →
I was hoping the same for Lee Seung Gi, who is enlisting in T-minus 10 days, but it looks like Lee Min Ho will be the 87er who will do a major K-drama swan song before he enlists later this year. Lee Min Ho is being courted for screenwriter Park Ji Eun‘s next drama, which continues her highly anticipated reputation … Continue reading →
Watching a breakout happen when it’s someone I’ve followed since way back when feels extra sweet, like a diamond in the rough finally getting the final coat of polish and set out for everyone else to admire. Park Bo Gum has been on my radar since weekend drama Wonderful Days, playing the younger version of Lee Seo Jin in a … Continue reading →
