I’m sure Lee Jong Seok is wearing head-to-toe Burberry, which is one of my favorite effortlessly chic brands, but this is one major exception to my love of both. Lee Jong Seok was at the store opening event for Burberry in Seoul, looking healthy and well-rested, but everything on top of his natural charm was all wrong. The hair is … Continue reading →
Well, now we know who bought up the used costumes from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and recycled it with more bling. Filming is currently underway for the C-drama adaptation of popular writer Guo Jingming‘s novel Ice Fantasy. Starring Feng Shao Feng, Victoria Song, Ma Tian Yu, Hu Bing, and Zhang Meng, the novel tells of the conflict between … Continue reading →
Just having Vivian and Bryant together is enough for me to check out this new TW-drama, but the opening theme song and MV sequence is the unexpected icing on the cake. TVBS is jumping on the cooking theme bandwagon with Taste of Love (Chinese title 唯一繼承者 The Only Heir), but unlike the kindergarten level Love Cuisine on SETTV that is wasting … Continue reading →
This is one weird and ultimately pointless exercise in celebrity rubbernecking. C-actress Angelababy (Yang Ying) was just subject to a very public medical examination to confirm whether she had or hadn’t any plastic surgery, an exercise that was mandated by the Beijing court that is currently trying a case where she sued a plastic surgery clinic for claiming she had … Continue reading →
This is fantastic drama news, which still needs to be taken with a caveat at this point since it’s so far out on the horizon. MBC has brought Empress Ki screenwriter Jang Young Chul back after a three year hiatus and he will be helming the next Mon-Tues long drama series for the network after the currently airing 50-episode makjang … Continue reading →
There’s a new odd couple in fashion town and it’s none other than real life very good friends Jung Yumi and Yoo Ah In. I don’t mean to write very good friends as some sort of wink wink implication that they’re more, I genuinely between opposite sex folks can be platonic good friends not to mention this particular friendship is … Continue reading →
Are those flowers for me, Jun Ki-sshi? Clearly not, as my man was looking mighty dapper recently attending the Korea Drama Awards to receive a prize. It has been an odd year being a Lee Jun Ki super fan, I loved that he was cast in Scholar Who Walks the Night as the role being perfectly suited for him, but the drama … Continue reading →
Three volumes of Lost You Forever and finally I’m seeing the end of the road ahead, with less than ten chapters left of a novel that has really taken an unforgettable bite out of my soul. A few years ago I probably would have had the energy to power translate the entire thing like I did with Da Mo Yao, … Continue reading →
With the Chinese celebrity wedding of the year over with now that Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy have tied the knot and set the bar yet another level high, fans and pundits are moving on to wedding watch for the next top star couple to head down the aisle. It does seem too soon to be speculating on Korean-Chinese cross border … Continue reading →
Leave it to born sexy So Ji Sub to always find a way to un-sexy himself thoroughly with the use of simple clothes. He does it so spectacularly he always manages to steal the spotlight for the wrong sartorial reasons, and in this case it’s at the script reading for upcoming KBS drama Oh My Venus. It feels a bit … Continue reading →
Song Joong Ki‘s entertainment career comeback after a two year military service hiatus feels as slow and steady as the arrival pace of his first acting project since discharge. Descendants of the Sun has been announced since 2014, got cast in early 2015, is now fully underway with filming, but alas won’t arrive until sometime in 2016. So many actors … Continue reading →
It’s like the producers of upcoming fantasy sageuk movie Joseon Magician knew exactly which of my buttons to push when it comes to male lead Yoo Seung Ho. Stick in in a flowy long hair wig to bring back all the devastating memories from his sageuk turns in Warrior Baek Dong Soo and Arang and the Magistrate? Check. It’s like … Continue reading →
I’m a firm believer in beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I merely state my personal perspective but never deride or dismiss anyone who sees it otherwise. Frankly the very act of watching onscreen entertainment is that every viewer sees things in his or her own light. With that said, the just released Marie Claire Taiwan pictorial … Continue reading →
