It’s so good to see Roy Qiu back in the entertainment spotlight, though he didn’t actually take a hiatus for the last two years but it certainly felt like it based on how low key he was. It’s a rather odd and ultimately inconsequential reason for his staying out of the limelight even as he’s filmed movies and dramas this … Continue reading →

The older I get, the more nostalgic I am, which makes me feel more square and less hip, but then I don’t give a fug these days other than being happy with the things I like. One of which is people staying in touch with their roots, wherever one comes from it’s lovely not to forget it and sweeter yet … Continue reading →
This is as suitable a selection as any, short of landing Korea’s biggest traditional beauty export Lee Young Ae for the gig. The as pretty in modern or traditional attire A-list actress Ha Ji Won was just named ambassador for the hanbok, the ambassador thingie is really becoming a thing she wears well since she was also named ambassador for the … Continue reading →
Sophisticated sexy is one of my favorite leading man looks and the production of upcoming KBS drama Oh My Venus totally nails it for So Ji Sub. This drama will be crawling out of the ratings pits left by its predecessor Sassy Go Go, which currently resides so far below MBC makjang Glamorous Temptation and SBS sageuk Six Flying Dragons. … Continue reading →
Don’t get typecast Namgoong Min! I have major fondness for SBS drama The Girl Who Sees Smells, despite a story that mostly made no sense and bumbling police work, the acting and chemistry of the cast made up the deficiencies and turned it into a fun watch for me. One standout was the chef character played by Namgoong Min, always … Continue reading →
This is fantastic news, however much it still requires follow through of a yet unknown project. Actor-singer Jang Geun Seok has stated that he will be coming back as an actor next year in 2016. In what capacity is yet unknown, a drama would be my preference but a movie isn’t a bad choice if the K-netizens still haven’t quite … Continue reading →
This is definitely a pairing of K-drama titans, and probably just in the nick of time what with the industry in need of a mega-epic-heyday returning type of hit with the traditional viewing audience. PD Lee Byung Hoon and screenwriter Choi Wan Kyu are teaming up for an epic weekend sageuk airing on MBC, taking over after My Daughter Geum … Continue reading →

The rom-com is the definition of short and sweet, airing for 20-episodes at just 15 minutes a … Continue reading →
C-writer/producer Guo Jingming has been flying high for well over a decade in C-ent, thanks to popular novels and later adaptations into even more popular hits like the Tiny Times movie series. His first novel Ice Fantasy is currently getting a C-drama adaptation with Feng Shao Feng and Victoria Song, but the bigger attention is focused on his self-produced 3D … Continue reading →
This is certainly a depressing way to get some press, and even the old adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity doesn’t seem to apply here as I can’t see an upside. K-ent media is addressing the long running ratings woes that have plagued KBS, above and beyond the general ratings depressed landscape among all the broadcasters. … Continue reading →
I’ll take this casting news with my foot on the optimistic side, overall there are more things going right than bemoaning things not being ideal. Upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs legal drama Remember, to follow after The Village (Achiara’s Secret), has added two more faces to join confirmed male lead Yoo Seung Ho. He’ll be pairing up with noona Park Min Young … Continue reading →
The movie gods clearly know how to whet my appetite for upcoming sageuk movie The Joseon Magician – more Yoo Seung Ho, please! The movie is part Joseon era royal politics and part road trip romance movie, with Go Ara‘s Joseon princess traveling to the Qing dynasty for her arranged marriage only to encounter love along the way with a … Continue reading →
