I’ve seen recurring commentary on recent Lee Min Ho posts that he just doesn’t look as good anymore. Of course that’s still balanced out by plenty of “oppa is so hot!” comments, but there are clearly enough opinions of his downgraded visuals to merit considering that point of view. I think he still looks good, definitely movie star handsome, but … Continue reading →
The bad hair trend is continuing on the heads of some universally lauded as gorgeous actors. First came Won Bin at his own wedding, next was Yoo Seung Ho last week at a CF brand event, and finally this week So Ji Sub saunters in with a combination of those two bad styles into a new even uglier do. I … Continue reading →
Episode 6 was by far the most substantive and interesting episode of Scholar Who Walks the Night since the fantastic start. That’s not saying much since the drama still relies too much on shoving Sung Yul and Yang Sun down our throats. I do want Sung Yul and Yang Sun, eventually and at a well plotted pace, not the current … Continue reading →
Don’t worry, the recap for the latest episode of Scholar Who Walks the Night is a-coming, but in the meantime let’s have an update on the drama to follow in that Wed-Thurs time slot for MBC. The network has reverse ugly duckling drama She Was Pretty lined up, and happily for me the production is avoiding the dizzying round of casting … Continue reading →
My wait for Lego Lee to return to the small screen will soon be satisfied when upcoming SETTV Friday night drama Love Cuisine (Chinese title Cuisine High School Student) premieres next week. For starters, this one already looks better than his last drama Aim High by virtue of his leading lady alone – he’s paired up with current drama It … Continue reading →
Star-studded upcoming K-movie Beauty Inside continues its excellent promotional tour, this week holding a press conference with female lead Han Hyo Joo and a few of her movie stars. I don’t want to keep listing the two dozen guest starring appearances in this movie but the costars that attended this particular media event included Kim Joo Hyuk, Seo Kang Joon, … Continue reading →
The second teaser for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Yongpal (Yongpalyi) had me in stitches, not because it looks bad or even unintentionally comedic, but because it finally dawned on me what the drama is about. It’s basically a mashup of Lee Jong Seok‘s freelancing rogue doctor element from Dr. Stranger with the underground covert parkour acrobatics of Ji Chang Wook‘s … Continue reading →
My continued enjoyment of Scholar Who Walks the Night is starting to get tempered by the realization that this drama might not have the capacity to do more beyond what it has already shown. That’s a disheartening feeling, liking the drama so much to want it to keep growing the mythology and digging deep into the pathos, yet all that … Continue reading →
I went to sleep and woke up to a K-ent with a brand new top star couple confirmed. I’m more than happy to have missed the standard hullabaloo from dating rumor reveal to checking with the agency to confirmation/denial, but apparently this new couple copped to the still young relationship quite readily. Current K-ent It Boy Kim Woo Bin and … Continue reading →
In terms of Asia’s popular fast casual clothing brands, right not might not be a good time to be a Uniqlo spokesperson for China (heh), but Giordano is having a nice week in South Korea. Thanks to the news of popular Giordano spokescouple So Ji Sub and Shin Mina doing the drama Oh My God together, many news articles are … Continue reading →
If I said I’m annoyed it would be an understatement, but it doesn’t rise to the level of being upset because this kind of shuffling is honestly par for the course. The problem is getting the public involved in the backstage nitty gritty, raising expectations before dashing it on the rocks of network politicking. Just two days after news broke … Continue reading →
I’m so happy that many folks enjoyed the sneak peeks at upcoming TW-movie Our Times, one of those coming-of-age movies set in more idyllic times that never gets old as long as it’s done right. The two young leads Vivian Sung and Darren Wang are also knocking it out of the park already in just the trailers, both really digging … Continue reading →
With all the talk over the current crop of child actors, which I’ll place at anyone 16 and younger, former child actor Nam Ji Hyun has officially left that station behind as she fully navigates the landscape of adult roles. She’s such an exquisite and versatile actress, from her boisterous plucky childhood roles as younger versions of famous sageuk leading … Continue reading →
