It’s a relief that Song Jong Ho‘s memorable exit from his guest starring turn in The Girl Who Sees Smells isn’t the last we’ll see of him in the near future. He’ll be back on the small screens next month on the KBS Friday night vampire youth drama Orange Marmalade. He’s much too long in the tooth to play a … Continue reading →
I’m more curious about what the Hong sisters have in store for upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Warm and Cozy than I am feeling all that interested in the drama. That’s not a bad angle to approach this drama since the Hong sisters are super hit-and-miss with me, if I love their drama then it’s madly and passionately or else it’s … Continue reading →
I can’t believe this is the third time Suzy and Yoo Yeon Seok have worked together, saying this not because I haven’t seen their works but because I have and neither left a memory of their interactions. Their first project was in the hit movie Introduction to Architecture, followed up with the drama Gu Family Book. Sure they didn’t play … Continue reading →
It’s been a few months since I watched C-drama My Sunshine (based on the novel Silent Separation 何以笙箫默 He Yi Sheng Xiao Mo) and so far nothing else this year out of China has been as satisfying. It’s not a great drama by any means, but having read the source novel there is a really addicting aspect of the central romance … Continue reading →
What a heartwarming episode of celeb sweetness to start the week off right. Married acting couple and soon-to-be-parents Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young graciously shared their personal baby shower with their fans, posting a series of candid snaps on Instagram that perfectly capture the unbridled joy of welcoming impending parenthood. I love them both so so much, just the … Continue reading →
The 51st Baeksang Art Awards nominations came out last Friday and was by and large pretty decent on the selection of quality performances and works. A few questionable selections snuck in but nothing so egregious as to offend sensibilities. Aside from the nominees selected by the voting committee, there are four popularity awards up for grabs in each of the … Continue reading →
Just because I like an actor and actress individually never guarantees they would make a stellar onscreen coupling. Even if they do generate chemistry onscreen, it can be wasted in a terrible story and lead to even more teeth gnashing for me than if they just failed to ignite on contact. That’s why I always remember to say a word … Continue reading →
The nominations are out for the 51st Baeksang Art Awards, with the ceremony scheduled for May 26th. This is one of the biggest and most prestigious entertainment awards in Korea, encompassing both film and television honors for the year prior. For once I’m speechless not by the ridiculous nominations but am instead shocked at how valid and on point nearly … Continue reading →
This rumored scheduling is too excellent not to share, not to mention highly probable to come true. MBC is lining up the remainder of the dramas this year and has a major trump card in hand for the fall season. Industry insiders are talking about famed screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee returning to MBC to air her new drama, with it … Continue reading →
I thought Ji Sung would be out of the limelight now, over a month after wrapping up his latest drama Kill Me Heal Me and settling into impending fatherhood with expecting wife Lee Bo Young. That’s why it feels like an extra special treat to see a his new pictorial in Elle Korea, a black and white set that somewhere … Continue reading →
I’m not a fan of cross-border collaborations for the sake of getting additional exposure but the news of this possible project sounds like a perfect match to me. Yoon Eun Hye is reportedly in talks to join season 2 of popular Chinese variety program Muse Dress (Chinese title The Goddess’s New Clothes). The first season aired last summer in 2014 … Continue reading →
This possible idol casting news isn’t all that surprising considering the drama in question comes from tvN‘s popular Answer Me series. SM Entertainment is reportedly auditioning D.O. from EXO (Do Kyung Soo) and Irene from Red Velvet for supporting roles in the main cast ensemble of upcoming Answer Me 1988. So far the drama appears to be having problems with casting … Continue reading →
It’s IU‘s turn to take a bow and show off her look for upcoming KBS drama Producer. I really like her and find her a much better actress than she seems to get credit for with drama fans. If judged by Dream High alone then she’s barely mediocre, serviceable without being all that memorable. She was better in You are … Continue reading →
