In less than 24-hours, SBS has declared a serious intention to make a sageuk statement this year. The network has started preparing for upcoming 50-episode long sageuk Six Dragons Flying by first making waves with the casting. The first named attached to the drama is young actor Yoo Ah In, who is considering the offer to star in what may … Continue reading →
The Girl Who Sees Smells may not be perfect but it continues to perfectly elicit both my delighted squeals and my holy mother of batman freakout screams. Episode 10 ends on the tensest cliffhanger moment yet, a reckoning of sorts for all three main leads. I consider Jae Hee integral to the story even as the soulless antagonist, the writer … Continue reading →
I’ve got bad and good news to report on upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs K-drama Masked Prosecutor (aka The Man in the Mask). This drama had one of the smoothest casting process of all the K-dramas this year, with the rumored leads and second leads all confirming in short order with none of the dizzying in-or-out carousel. The full cast of Kim … Continue reading →
It’s safe to say this drama might become Yoo Ah In‘s drama swan song before he leaves for military service, if he does end up doing it, of course. SBS is planning its own long 50-episode sageuk and not content to let MBC do Splendid Politics (Hwajung) alone this year. The drama is titled Six Dragons Flying (or Six Flying … Continue reading →
Does the first teaser preview of upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Warm and Cozy live up to its title? The vista views of Jeju Island does make me feel a warm breeze wafting through, but I’m not yet getting any cozy vibes. Instead the whole thing seems really light and cheerful, mostly thanks to Yoo Yeon Seok smiling his way through … Continue reading →
This was a slower episode of The Girl Who Sees Smells, with no major breakthroughs on the investigation side but one delayed step forward on the romance side. There is hand holding, sweet sleepless texting, jealousy and worry bundling together, and the very dreaded male reluctance to explain things clearly butting up against the female desire to have certainty. Moo … Continue reading →
I don’t think this news is purely publicity generating for the currently airing TW-drama Someone Like You, the drama has a few more episodes left in its run and has been doing swell enough in ratings. With that said, take this with a grain of salt but feel free to squee about it anyway. TW-media is reporting that insiders on … Continue reading →
Being a celebrity means personal relationships can and usually do impact the professional side of life. The K-pundits have been keeping a close eye on the star power of recently confirmed K-ent celebrity couple Lee Min Ho and Suzy to see what happens in the wake of a bombshell new relationship. With it being nearly two months since the public … Continue reading →
Tomorrow is Smelly Girl day and I couldn’t be happier to associate hump days with The Girl Who Sees Smells for the remaining weeks of its run. Last week’s episodes weren’t as explosive as the week prior, mostly because the grand reveal of chef Jae Hee as the serial killer is a pretty hard high point to beat. Instead of … Continue reading →
Taiwan got a Hallyu two-fer last week courtesy of Sidus HQ. Whether by intentional scheduling or by coincidence, Jang Hyuk and Kim Woo Bin were both in Taiwan for various entertainment related events. Kim Woo Bin held his second fan meeting there while Jang Hyuk was there to film for a new movie and also held his first fan meeting … Continue reading →
It’s a relief that Song Jong Ho‘s memorable exit from his guest starring turn in The Girl Who Sees Smells isn’t the last we’ll see of him in the near future. He’ll be back on the small screens next month on the KBS Friday night vampire youth drama Orange Marmalade. He’s much too long in the tooth to play a … Continue reading →
I’m more curious about what the Hong sisters have in store for upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Warm and Cozy than I am feeling all that interested in the drama. That’s not a bad angle to approach this drama since the Hong sisters are super hit-and-miss with me, if I love their drama then it’s madly and passionately or else it’s … Continue reading →
I can’t believe this is the third time Suzy and Yoo Yeon Seok have worked together, saying this not because I haven’t seen their works but because I have and neither left a memory of their interactions. Their first project was in the hit movie Introduction to Architecture, followed up with the drama Gu Family Book. Sure they didn’t play … Continue reading →
