What’s good for the goose is good for the gander and in this case gender-swapping would make it entirely problematic. New posters are here for upcoming SBS drama Hyena with leads Kim Hye Soo and Joo Ji Hoon playing rival lawyers. The two new posters first show the two tussling, she’s got her hand pulling on his hair with the … Continue reading →
SBS is off to a good start with Hot Stove League doing well in Fri-Sat ratings so the stage is set for it’s successor drama Hyena when it takes over in late February. We already have a Shark and a Wolf in K-drama land so of course a Hyena wouldn’t be out of place especially as the predator that scavenges … Continue reading →
Every time I scroll down this post I shake my head, each and every new picture I can’t help but shake my head. This is the weirdest collection of so-called couture outfits all courtesy of Louis Vuitton as the brand held an event in Seoul last week. There were so many A-listers and famous faces in attendance I cannot believe … Continue reading →
Woah, this is big potential K-drama casting news and a positive possibility for me. Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon are reportedly offered the leads in year end KBS drama Hyena, not to be confused with the same name K-drama from 2006. This Hyena has the two leads playing legal professionals and ones that revolve around them trying to … Continue reading →
The tagline for the Tod’s event in Seoul this week was “No_Code” but it may as well be “No_Style”. I dunno what’s gotten into the male stars in attendance but imma give them all a hard pass when I laid eyes on the lot. There was so much fugly hair on heads and plenty of equally fugly suits whether in … Continue reading →
The undead are still roaming Joseon Korea at the end of the first season of Netflix K-drama Kingdom, and in fact are getting closer to a widespread attack. The short six-episodes was an appetizer masquerading as a full season, and the corrupt powers that tried to resurrect a dead king to use as a puppet inadvertently creating patient zero of … Continue reading →
If there is ever a K-ent comeback story more affirming that Joo Ji Hoon I’ve yet to see it, but then again he really had some luck coupled with copious amounts of hard work. Ten years ago in 2009 he was arrest for marijuana use and his sky rocketing career after Goong (Princess Hours) and Mawang (The Devil) ground to … Continue reading →
If all else fails with MBC Mon-Tues drama Item, at least the entire cast showed up at the press conference dressed to impress. I was legit bowled over by every single main cast member dressing for the occasion, with male lead Joo Ji Hoon even going above and beyond and bringing actual style to the proceedings. I LOVE his soft … Continue reading →
While the big three networks got roundly walloped last year by the all the cable networks in ratings and critical acclaim, 2019 is a fresh year and who knows if a resurgence is coming. I have solid hopes with MBC Mon-Tues drama Item premiering next week on February 11th, taking a supernatural element fused with a procedural that has been … Continue reading →
Netflix premiered the 6-episode K-drama Kingdom this past weekend and I devoured it much like the zombie hordes in the story. It was riveting and fast-paced, and the short 6-episodes flew by ending with a helluva cliffhanger. Thankfully the second season has been green lit with screenwriter Kim Eun Hee also of Signal fame having finished her scripts already in … Continue reading →
I thought I would be all zombie-d out by now with a surfeit of zombie shows from Hollywood to Asia but it appears I have the appetite for one more, namely the upcoming Netflix 8-episode drama Kingdom. Adapted from a manhwa by the screenwriter Kim Eun Hee of Signal, 3 Days, and Sign, the story revolves around Joo Ji Hoon‘s … Continue reading →
I was late to the blockbuster two-part fantasy movie Along With the Gods, binging both part 1 and 2 last week so now I’m on a Joo Ji Hoon kick. He held his own opposite his A-list top male leads and now I’m keen to see if he can kick start life back into the prime time ratings for MBC … Continue reading →
K-actor Joo Ji Hoon doesn’t get as much drama recognition in 2018 among the viewers but from the film side he was involved in the three highest grossing Korean movies of the last twelve months. The two fun and fantastical Along With the Gods movies and The Spy Gone North, and sure he was playing supporting roles to A-listers like … Continue reading →
