A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Ratings are important for recouping production investment and ensuring more K-dramas are made, but sometimes there are gems that don’t get the broader reception but linger as an asset to the genre. Such is the trajectory of jTBC Sat-Sun drama My Liberation Diary, it took over the time slot from Forecasting Love and Weather but is bringing in less than … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This looks like the swan song pictorial in terms of what Kim Ji Won‘s existing agency lined up for her. She’s in the pages of Arena Homme Korea for November 2021 and I quite like the slightly aloof vibe she gives off complete with the extra straight hair. With this pictorial which came out last week, today came the news … Continue reading →

Kim Ji Won’s Agency SALT Releases New Promo Pics that Showcase Her Diverse Aura

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The acting trajectory for Kim Ji Won has felt really roller coaster-ish to me, from breakouts to small hits to unexpected misses to arthouse fare. She’s definitely all over the place and I think ultimately in a good way, no bad press or weird gossip and she just gives it her all whenever I see her onscreen. Her last drama … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I love seeing an award winning screenwriter take the time before churning out another work. Deep and meaningful writing is hard to produce commercially and I like that My Ahjusshi and Another Oh Hae Young screenwriter Park Hae Young has taken a nearly three year gap before coming back with a new work. The drama is titled My Liberation Diary … Continue reading →

The drama is described as slice-of-life and revolves around four friends who then become two … Continue reading →

Pick Your Favorite K-drama Male and Female Lead Height Differential When it Comes to Swoony Romance Visuals

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Thanks to the expertise of K-netizens we have another fun “pick your fave” topic – height differential. K-drama casting probably doesn’t take it into account but as viewers it’s definitely something that adds or detracts from the watch experience. I don’t mind same height leads if they have great body language chemistry and sometimes a super big height difference crosses … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Gah, I love this poster so much, thank you City Couple Way of Love! In my twenties I would have framed it for so magically capturing that ephemeral young girl dream. That I could have that perfectly framed moment, and look as radiant as Kim Ji Won, and that a man as handsome and adoring as Ji Chang Wook would … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m rooting for this drama like mad because Ji Chang Wook really needs a drama picking break. His last two were abysmal to bad with Melting Me Softly and then Backstreet Rookie. He’s paired up this time with Kim Ji Won who also didn’t get the mega hit she wanted with the high profile Arthdal Chronicles, so these two together … Continue reading →
