I actually think it’s a lot harder to play a nice male lead and make him interesting than to do the archetypal bad boy lover which usually comes across as more exciting onscreen. To which I mean Jing in Love You Forever may be the sweet constant but bad boy Xiang Liu is the X-factor. Kudos to Deng Wei for … Continue reading →
Another C-drama got cast and will kick off filming, it’s called Seven Night Snow (七夜雪) and is adapted from a same title novel. The leads are Zeng Shun Xi and Li Qin and this is a fresh pairing and also two stars who can act. Unfortunately for me neither engage my attention but a good story and chemistry can change … Continue reading →
So I expect this drama to have tons of male actor names associated with it but this one makes sense. C-ent insiders are saying Zhang Ling He and his side has signed an interest commitment as the male lead opposite Dilraba Dilmurat in her upcoming fantasy life jumping revenge drama Wan Zha Chao Huang. It will apparently have one main … Continue reading →
So when this C-drama was announced months ago everyone was naturally like “WHY?!” because the original K-drama was considered perfect in every way. In what amounts to karmic timing, the drama Loving Strangers (C-title Thank You for Listening to Me) started filming with Mark Chao and Zhang Zi Feng at the same time the male lead of the original K-drama … Continue reading →
So this tiny news blip is just funny because it’s so absurd either way. C-actress Yu Shu Xin did a Paris stay recently to attend fashion shows and shoot material and recently she uploaded a picture of her crouched on the ground with a glass of champagne after doing a street shoot. C-netizens got upset at her leaving two French … Continue reading →

Now that summer 2023 C-dramas are all over, including the tail end premieres at the beginning of September, the fall start feels like a balloon being let out in tension. October 2023 so far hasn’t see any C-drama premiere to strong reviews or online buzz but that’s okay. I think the holidays will bring some higher profile premieres. For now, … Continue reading →
Filming is about halfway done with the C-drama Yong Ye Xing He (永夜星河) which translates to forever night milky way but is better known as the C-drama adaptation of the popular novel Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus. The drama stars Yu Shu Xin and Ding Yu Xi as the leads, with Zhu Xu Dan and Yang Shi Ze as … Continue reading →
Y’all love a good melon and this one is good in that it’s entertaining and rather harmless to reputation. Period homespun story C-drama Romance on the Farm premiered recently and so far the reviews and viewership is decent, from the outside reminds me of New Life Begins but swap out farm life for palace life. Starring Zeng Shun Xi and … Continue reading →
So there’s a new period C-drama that premiered last few days, Scent of Time with Zhou Ye and Wang Xing Yue. That Zhou Ye already gets first billing is pretty funny to me, don’t get me wrong she’s so cute looking and has potential but her acting is still quite green. The drama has her female lead die after doing … Continue reading →
There is no word yet on when C-drama The Legend of Shen Li will air but the drama is definitely a high profile S+ level drama with Zhao Li Ying as the top billing female lead and reuniting with her Princess Agent‘s male lead Lin Geng Xin. The promos so far look great but the latest filming stills to come … Continue reading →
So Director Guo Jingming aired My Journey to You to mixed results but as usual got chatter so he likely got his return on investment. He’s currently filming a new C-drama already with The Story of Mystics but his next one after is already in the works. The literal title is called Fake Song Dynasty Assassin Diary and is adapted … Continue reading →
Being consciously aware and making proactive decisions about one’s career is a good thing but always be mindful that if it doesn’t work then make adjustments. C-ent is reporting that young actor Wu Lei has decided to focus solely in film and movies for the time being and is not even open to reading drama scripts or meeting with drama … Continue reading →
