I’m glad this melon got confirmed as quickly as it did because the rumors alone were already causing such a fandom ruckus. Now it’s confirmed the fans can boycott, accept, leave, whatever and the drama can just film along merrily. Period C-drama Flourished Peony will indeed star Yang Zi and Li Xian, one of the most popular C-drama OTPs from … Continue reading →
So I separate good looking and can act, it’s idea if a star has both assets but one without the other is pretty common especially in C-ent. My personal litmus is whether the performance is at least entertaining for me, but usually when a star can’t act it just isn’t fun to watch. This year in 2023 hotly elevated female … Continue reading →
Can I like this boy even more, it’s hard but he keeps on impressing me with his grit and determination. On the heels of Dylan Wang‘s modern office romance drama Only for Love, which is basically Fifty Shades of Grey without the kinky sex but the same level of brain dead workplace “plot”, the only good thing to come out … Continue reading →
C-actress Yang Zi isn’t just a famous child actor turned into even more famous adult actress and a top liuliang starlet in her own right, she also has the reputation of being a husband maker. That’s a phrase given to wives who after marrying a man he becomes even more successful. It’s kinda shitty in this day and age to … Continue reading →
I am ALWAYS going to be in the own voice dub camp, even with some stars whose voice I don’t like because it’s too high pitched or squeaky I still think it adds authenticity and uniqueness. Dylan Wang is reportedly a C-star who not only does his own voice but actively wants to do it and makes time for going … Continue reading →
I don’t know if what makes Wonderland of Love work THIS HARD for me is a chicken (the leads and their acting) or the egg (the directing and the script) but goodness is this the most unexpected C-drama to emerge from the recent scrum of premieres to grab me by the gut and heart completely. There is When the Wind … Continue reading →
Heeeeeelp me! There are so many dramas going on right now all of a sudden and I am so in over my head lol. Adding to the glut of K-dramas and C-dramas is period revenge and second chance drama Story of Kunning Palace, which was thisclose to airing earlier this year in May and decided to make its abrupt arrival … Continue reading →
It’s a good last few days in C-ent as there are now more interesting C-dramas released to check out and fill the late fall void. Tencent premiered Wonderland of Love with Xu Kai and Jing Tian doing their best Romeo and Juliet in war torn Chinese kingdoms impression with likely lots of fighting standing in for flirting. Both are dealing … Continue reading →
Last week saw the premiere of modern garment industry and fashion C-drama Rising with the Wind with Gong Jun and Zhong Chu Xi and its landed with a collective yawn. This has led to C-ent pundits to discuss how Gong Jun has basically exhausted all the buzz and firepower from his career elevating hit Word of Honor in 2021 without … Continue reading →
Time to say hello to a reporter and company boss office romance that is not as sexual as Fifty Shades of Grey. The modern romance C-drama Only for Love with Dylan Wang and Bai Lu will air drop tomorrow on November 3rd on Hunan TV. I think it’s hilarious this drama will air before Bai Lu’s period drama Story of … Continue reading →
While this period C-drama isn’t as buzzy as a few others on the soon-to-air watch list it’s certainly doing its part in keeping interest primed with the promos released so far. Reportedly Tencent will release Wonderland of Love in early November, the 8th to be precise based on the latest insider rumors. It’s a straight wuxia drama starring Jing Tian … Continue reading →
A modern day drama dropped today on October 30th with iQiyi premiering Rising with the Wind rather abruptly without much promotion. Starring Gong Jun, Zhong Chu Xi, and Wu Xuan Yi, I couldn’t tell when I first saw some stills of Gong Jun what era this drama was set because he looks like he stepped right out of the turn … Continue reading →
So this is kinda a cute sounding drama and a pretty good casting of the two leads based on the character description. C-ent has Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei paired up for a fantasy romance demon-hunting period C-drama called Zi Ye Gui (子夜归) which translates as Midnight Hour Return. It’s adapted from a novel called Lady Mei’s Husband Pampering … Continue reading →
