It’s been a quiet month of January for C-actress Zhao Lu Si after a very eventful December last month where she was hospitalized after her health deteriorated on the filming set of her drama Almost Lover and later she revealed that she was suffering from depression after she was verbally mistreated by her former agency early on in her career. … Continue reading →
It’s rarer and rarer to see huge budget S+ level C-dramas as the economy is also not throw money at entertainment level it used to be, so the end of December came the first big male lead led period drama with Guardians of the Dafeng starring Dylan Wang marketed as a make or break it type of project. The early … Continue reading →
So the same day premiere of two female actress led C-dramas with Flourished Peony starring Yang Zi and Bai Lu with Moonlight Mystique has a winner, and unlike last November’s female actress showdown this one is not a surprise. Peony has been trending more and gotten stronger reviews and now the opening Douban viewer voted ratings reflect that as well … Continue reading →
So this is really great timing, to release period C-drama Perfect Match (Wu Fu Ling Men 五福临门) right before lunar new year since it just seems like a fun family oriented show to watch when nestling at home. The Yu Zheng produced C-drama stars a bevy of his agency stars along with additional familiar names and faces to create a … Continue reading →
Okay, please for the love of novel gods let this rumored casting be just that, a rumor never to become reality. Since the announcement that the C-drama The Rebirth of Malicious Empress of Military Lineage (将门毒后) was happening it’s become a top IP for young actors and actresses. The female lead Shen Miao and her epmoress rebirth journey from bumbling … Continue reading →
The C-drama Love Travels Through Time (揽流光三) got way more attention with the first casting new then normal for a drama nowhere near S+ level budget. This sounds like a prestige series so makes even more sense that the female lead signed on is Seo Hyun Jin. I couldn’t get myself excited to watch her last drama The Trunk despite loving both leads in the drama because a slow burn dark show wasn’t my jam during the cold weather and holiday season. But she will be … Continue reading →
Oh hells naw! Like, WTF is Liu Xue Yi and his agency even thinking accepting this drama. I can totally see C-ent wanting to elevate talented and adorable former child and now teen actress Ai Mi into leading lady level but it should be in a modern youth high school drama and not in an actual romance with an adult … Continue reading →
Period c-drama Guardians of the Dafeng is now on the second half of its airing and has some notable and ignominious records as of this week. The drama hit the 30,000 heat index on Tencent which certifies it as a major hit for the platform, but at the same time the opening Douban ratings are out and its a low … Continue reading →
An upcoming xianxia C-drama finished filming recently so let’s take a look at Love in the Clouds, starring Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao. It’s yet early in the post-production but I do expect this drama sometime in late 2025 to be released. Hou Ming Hao continues to do one drama after another, all looking promising but none being … Continue reading →
