With two weeks left until its premiere, don’t be surprised to start seeing more promotional material from upcoming weekend drama The Best Lee Soon Shin. I’m also uncertain whether relatively newbie actress IU, with only a supporting part in Dream High under her belt, is ready to headline a drama that is named after her character no less. She has … Continue reading →
Good ole Yoon Eun Hye – even in the dead of Winter she manages to jolt me awake like a splash of refreshing cold water for the visual senses. Fresh off a very disappointing turn (for me) in Missing You, where her performance was solid but the character so superficially written, at least she got to experience the melodrama bug … Continue reading →
I really cannot believe Flower Boy Next Door has completed filming. It felt like yesterday when the cast was announced and little treats started trickling out before Christmas amplifying the spirit of the joyous holidays. Not it’s already the end of February and time to bid adieu to shy Dok Mi, gregarious Enrique, and dorky Jin Rok. I will look … Continue reading →
So….what do you all think? Even giving it the biggest benefit of the doubt ever, is there even a chance that the upcoming gangster melodrama When a Man Loves will be anything but a hot mess? Right now WAML is running neck-and-neck with Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love as the two dramas with the greatest upside-downside swing. It can … Continue reading →
If these absolutely gorgeous first official stills from the upcoming fantasy sageuk Gu Family Book are anything to go by, this will be one lush and beautiful to behold sageuk. To this day Arang and the Magistrate remains one of the prettiest sageuks I have ever watched (Chuno is still the most stunning visually), and that is always an achievement … Continue reading →
It’s rather difficult not to have an opinion on the Park Shi Hoo rape allegation case by now. One can refrain from making a judgment on the available facts and speculation, but is hard not to have a preliminary opinion of what might have happened. In alleged rape cases, even when all the facts are sifted through and sometimes when … Continue reading →
Good gracious is that one mmmmmmm delicious man boy. Since Yoo Seung Ho announced midway through Missing You that he was enlisting in the army after the drama wrapped, I’ve been dealing with the myriad stages of grief. Denial lasted for a second since it wasn’t April’s Fools Day and North and South Korea didn’t somehow magically reunite, then came … Continue reading →
I can’t believe we’re almost at the final week of Flower Boy Next Door. I wonder if tvN will continue with the Flower Boy series and keep tapping the well since it doesn’t feel dry in the least. There will always be a market for the youth drama, and I actually don’t feel like FBND is all that young in … Continue reading →
That Winter, The Wind Blows makes me simultaneously feel squicky and shivery. The intensity radiates off the screen but it’s not always the appropriate kind. Currently I can’t fully enjoy the OTP moments, because its all predicated on Oh Soo pretending to be Oh Young’s brother and Oh Young falling for his pretense that treating him as her oppa. This … Continue reading →
The drama behind this drama is way more dramatic than the actual drama can possibly be. Which therefore means trainwreck ahead, but with this male cast, I can’t imagine it would be anything other than exceptionally riveting. After a bevy of leading lady changes, All About My Love (also known as Everything About My Relationship) has finally cast as its … Continue reading →
There are new developments in the Park Shi Hoo rape allegations that add significantly more facts to the case. For those of you living under a rock the last few days, the biggest news in K-ent has been the allegations made by a 22 year old trainee known as “A” that she went drinking with Park Shi Hoo and was … Continue reading →
That Winter, The Wind Blows might as well be called the Jo In Sung show. The camera LOVES this man. For the first three episodes I was trying to immerse myself into the story and get a feel for what this world was trying to set up, but the first time I sat back and just watched him act it … Continue reading →
I have one thing to ask of the upcoming weekend family drama The Best Lee Soon Shin – please be bright and cheery. With the upcoming sageuk glut not to mention love love melodramas such as That Winter, The Wind Blows and When a Man Loves, I could use a breezy alternative on weekends that isn’t too much of a … Continue reading →
