What gives, SBS? This is the oddest thing in that we’re a day away from Saturday’s new episode of Cheongdamdong Alice and still no video preview. And the drama has only aired 4 episodes! Usually dramas stop airing previews between episodes 6-8 which is when live filming catches up to airing. I recall CA starting to film quite in advance … Continue reading →
This is quite a treat for those TW-drama watchers who are hoping to see some big drama stars all gathered in one place. SETTV, still the leader this year in ratings among the five big channels (CTS, CTV, GTV, and FTV), held an end of the year party and award’s banquet for all the stars of its 2012 dramas. The … Continue reading →
OH MY GOD. Never in a million years did I ever think I would have reason to writer another post about Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me Mary). I’m unabashedly honest about loving this batshit crazy drama when it aired. The early parts were funny and manga-ish and so up my alley it wasn’t even funny, but mostly it … Continue reading →
I’m saddened there are those who believe differences in opinion is best left unexpressed at all. With that said, it gratifies me to hear confirmation that there are plenty of folks who enjoy the exercise in constructive debate within an atmosphere spanning the gamut of differing perceptions. Up until now I’ve enjoyed parts of Missing You enough to warrant the … Continue reading →
I had a weird dream last night where the six lead characters of Cheongdamdong Alice were sitting in a circle playing something akin to a cross between strip poker and truth-or-dare. That would be awesome, wouldn’t it? It’s been forever since a drama made me gnash my teeth during the interminable wait between episodes, so much so its caused me … Continue reading →
You know, even if Flower Boy Next Door turns out to be a dud, which can totally happen, I will always remember fondly how wonderfully creative and refreshingly fun the promos for this drama were. This is exactly how I fondly remember Heartstrings (You’ve Fallen for Me), Park Shin Hye‘s last drama with Jung Yong Hwa that I was so … Continue reading →
Okay, that’s just a really gorgeous shot of Hyung Joon so I had to lead with it, especially since I couldn’t find much in this episode to keep my interest. I’m finding myself emotionally and mentally checking out of Missing You. Nothing really happens in this drama. It’s just a series of extremely improbable bad things continuously happening to good … Continue reading →
Not only did the C-movie version of Secret Garden the famous K-drama actually film this year, it’s going to be released in three weeks on December 28th. Either mark your calendars because you want to watch it, or if you’re an SG aficionado then this might be your version of D-day. The thing appeared to have filmed in less than … Continue reading →
Lee Seung Gi has been immersed in the singing side of his career since wrapping The King 2 Hearts back in May, which is good for fans of his music since it means new singles to put on repeat and new performances to savor. Last week he held his Hope Concert in Seoul that was a sold out performance and … Continue reading →
Awwww, so much love. It was totally worth it for me spending so much time following Miss Rose despite all signs pointing to a drastic decline in quality right about now. This drama was always about spending time together and not in the few manufactured conflicts, except now it’s all about the manufactured conflicts and not enough time together. Puff … Continue reading →
Awww, poor Jung Woo, why so depressed dude? Oh right, you got tasered by your number one ahjumma fan who turns out to be a homicidal rapist killer. One thing that just really stands out about MY is that the emotions can be justified but the events that create the emotions continue to feel so ridiculously extreme. It could happen, … Continue reading →
I’m seriously pinching myself to see if I’m dreaming. It can’t be possible that Cheongdamdong Alice is this good. So far it’s succeeding beyond my wildest imaginations as a straight up rom-com that attempts to have honest dialogue about the interconnected web between material wealth and ambition where love is the sacrificial lamb. The writing is so air tight and … Continue reading →
Turns out the Christmas teaser released for Flower Boy Next Door was just an appetizer, the real deal main course is now here as well. tvN just dropped a longer version of the Christmas-themed party-in-an-apartment teaser showing four flower boys celebrating Christmas with Park Shin Hye. Initially she’s sad and about to pour herself a bowl of cereal (all she … Continue reading →
