Drama Llama say whut??!? One of the biggest question marks in K-drama land recently is the question of who is the second male lead in the upcoming MBC drama Missing You. The drama is less than two weeks away from its premiere, and the original second male lead it courted in Chun Jung Myung turned the drama down in no … Continue reading →
I wonder who thought of the brilliant idea to cast Ishihara Satomi, who just wrapped up the J-dorama Rich Man, Poor Woman with Oguri Shun, in the upcoming Lucky 7 SP co-starring with Matsumoto Jun. Seriously? I didn’t make this shiz up! Somewhere Inou Mao is screaming no fair and yelling “hey, that’s MY exclusive territory to toggle between these … Continue reading →
Ah Miss Rose, still so sweet and satisfying. Episode 13 was a dense dense episode full of office politics, dueling resignation letters, and plenty of parental interference from all sides. Both Mommy Gao and the Luo parents get involved in the complicated love triangle between Si Yi, Cheng Kuan, and Vivian, though really it’s more like one guy choosing between … Continue reading →
Cheongdamdong Alice is far and away my most anticipated upcoming K-drama in the horizon, even adding in the dramas already announced for 2013. It’s Moon Geun Young‘s comeback drama two years after she did Mary Stayed Out All Night with Jang Geun Seok, which was really a drama that worked for me solely on the performance of those two adorable … Continue reading →
I’m pretty spaced out about the Fall 2012 J-dorama season, which is once again chock full of odds and ends that I’m not interested in. So far I’ve only checked out Akumu-chan, and that was partially due to the curiosity over the first episode’s solid ratings and because I still have some good will towards Kitagawa Keiko despite her turning … Continue reading →
The more I see of the upcoming daily TW-drama Love, Now, the more it looks like a giant win is coming our way. The already palpable and darling chemistry between leads George Hu and Annie Chen, the whole “let’s get married because I’m about to die” misunderstanding, and now SETTV has stacked the deck by releasing the second preview set … Continue reading →
You win some, you lose some, and that saying applies much too aptly to dramas. A drama starring a favorite actor is no guarantee it’ll be good, and I’m way too busy in life to waste time with stuff that just doesn’t resonate with me. With that said, having to drop Arang and the Magistrate is truly one of my … Continue reading →
The collective shrieking from poor put upon Joo Won fangirls leaves me both amused and sympathetic to their plight. Upon hearing that their beloved Joo Won might be paired up with a much older actress in Choi Kang Hee for the upcoming drama The Secret Lovers, the amount of anger and weeping might lead one to suppose everyone found out … Continue reading →
While Joe Cheng was off busting illicit tax-evading tobacco smuggling rings, his entertainment colleague and fellow Taiwan armed service member Ming Dao was doing something a bit more in line with his day job. Ming Dao enlisted about 7 months ago in mid-February for his mandatory military service and was assigned to the army. He joined the Army Honor Guard … Continue reading →
Okay, who switched out corporate raider Gao Cheng Kuan and frumpy secretary Luo Si Yi for the alterna-verse biker versions of them? Not complaining, just totally chuckling here at how cute the Miss Rose OTP look when completely out-of-character. Truth be told, Cheng Kuan can’t just be working all day long and his only hobby drinking wine with Sheng Jun, … Continue reading →
Now that 2012 is heading towards the end, there are really no more K-dramas left to premiere that haven’t been cast yet. Which leaves me looking into 2013 and oh boy it’s shaping up to be a doozy. First off comes the producers behind Giant and History of the Salaryman, truly talented subversive geniuses in my book, and they are … Continue reading →
The first teaser is out for Missing You, which makes sense since Arang and the Magistrate ended today though the drama won’t premiere for another two weeks. Still, it’s nice to get an inkling as to what to expect. Can I sound like a crazy Koala broken record and remind the producers that there is still no second male lead … Continue reading →
Episode 12 of Nice Guy remained as fabulous as always, like a fashionista with innate good taste and can rock the scene whether dressing up, down or a bit out there. We get tons of forward movement on all fronts, all the while allowing the characters to breathe a bit and reveal some great delicious nuggets of motivation and suspicion. … Continue reading →
