Kyaaaaa, it’s finally a wrap! From the set of Rich Man, Poor Woman came this latest picture showing leads Oguri Shun and Ishihara Satomi posing with their two directors as the final scene for the last episode was completed. No, the dorama isn’t magically getting extended, though an SP is possible but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it. What … Continue reading →
I know I made the connection that Miss Rose was the TW-drama version of City Hall, and while the general outline does rely heavily on CH’s construct, overall the drama is deviating significantly that it only adds to my enjoyment because I’m not waiting for known scenes to show up. I enjoy watching Si Yi and Cheng Kuan’s gradual and … Continue reading →
This might be my last recap for Arang and the Magistrate, depending on how next week’s episodes go and whether Nice Guy completely owns me from the get go. I hate dropping recapping projects, but sometimes it has to be done if my heart isn’t in it anymore. I still enjoy watching Arang, but my enthusiasm doesn’t rise to the … Continue reading →
I can’t take Jang Geun Seok seriously anymore. I haven’t written him off, because a boy that immensely talented as an actor cannot simply be written off being he’s apparently going through what appears to be a phase. At least that’s what I’m hoping it is, because if he continues down this path of doing shitty dramas and holding money-making … Continue reading →
Ahhh, Nice Guy. I can safely bet cold hard cash that someone, if not everyone, in that drama is going to get royally screwed. But whatever magic brew Lee Kyung Hee is concocting, I’m hoping this one is as delicious as some of her other works that I loved dearly because I am so ready to get addicted to some … Continue reading →
Let me start off by revealing that Episode 7 of Arang and the Magistrate has an extended scene set in a cave. The last time I watched a sageuk drama with a scene set in a cave, it was the perfection of Damo and the scene in question left me reeling with emotion. My mental flashback to Damo feels quite … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly neato dorito. Yoon Kye Sang had two drama hits in a row, first with Best Love last year, which he followed up with the sitcom High Kick 3. I loved his perfect Dr. Yoon Pil Joo in BL and would love to see him back in prime time drama leading man form harkening back to his … Continue reading →
Much as I loathe to be the etiquette police, I’ll probably end up doing it every few months anyways despite always hoping I didn’t have to. I’ve seen my preview translations and other Rich Man, Poor Woman stuff being lifted wholesale and reposted elsewhere without ever asking me. That’s a big no-no in bloggyland, and I would hate to lock … Continue reading →
Arang and the Magistrate is really a pleasure to watch from a fresh creative standpoint. It’s not groundbreaking but really transports the viewer into a world that doesn’t feel like a stale retread of many folk tales and ghost stories of yore, even if a closer look reveals that it does liberally borrow from many other such supernatural tales of … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye has had a busy Summer of activities despite not currently working on any acting projects. Most recently she attended the 15th Anniversary Pop Up Boutique media event for clothing brand O’2nd. Not sure if Eun Hye is a spokesperson for the brand, or is friends with the designer, or simply likes the clothes, but it’s hard to … Continue reading →
Once I finally got around to watching the C-drama Love Actually with Joe Cheng, Lee Da Hae, Li Yi Feng, and Anna Fang, I wished the heck I didn’t even bother and could continue to daydream about how cute and wonderful it was. Sometimes getting a bubble burst just compounds the disappointment, and in this case, the drama ought to … Continue reading →
Rich Man, Poor Woman – like a balm for my soul that sometimes kicks me in the shin before delivering the goodies. I know what I threatened to do if I didn’t get any kissing in episode 9, but I’m not one to hold grudges or fixate on what wasn’t there over what was. Episode 9 was some kind of … Continue reading →
Seung Gi, baby boy of mine, you do know you’re not supposed to visit Taiwan without giving your noona (ME!) a heads up and coordinating times with me, right? It was to my utter horror and despair to learn that my beautiful Lee Seung Gi hied himself off to Taipei this weekend for a fan meeting with his Taiwanese fans … Continue reading →
