To the Beautiful You released three official posters and I thought it would be fun to stack them up against the posters from the previous versions of Hana Kimi. This story/drama franchise really doesn’t get as much cult love out there as HanaDan or Itazura na Kiss, but I think that’s due to none of the previous versions being considered … Continue reading →
This dorama might be the death of me. What can I say about episode 4 of Rich Man, Poor Woman that doesn’t resort to just throwing superlatives at it. It was magnificent from start to finish, an episode that took off from the jaw-dropping cliffhanger of episode 3 and never looked back. I felt like so much happened in a … Continue reading →
Hold your horses people, the recap for episode 4 of Rich Man, Poor Woman is a-coming. Until then you can whet your appetite on the preview for episode 5, which shows us that the challenges are mounting for Hyuga and his grand personal data registry. One one side is Asahina, clearly peeved about Hyuga blocking his strategic alliance with the … Continue reading →
We’re exactly two weeks out from the premiere of the fantasy time-traveling sageuk drama Faith starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun, and I must say this drama continues to look fantastic. By going fantasy, it actually plays up those elements and isn’t afraid to have characters that look really far-fetched, which also serves to further differentiate it from … Continue reading →
Last year around July a drama premiered that appeared both zany and cute, leaving everyone excited that a good farce was to be had. Alas, Spy Myung Wol turned out to be a debacle of epic proportions on and off the screen, and right now Haeundae Lovers is reminding me of SMW for various reasons. It’s about the premiere in … Continue reading →
The Chinese men’s magazine Men’s Uno celebrated its 100th issue recently by publishing a collection of photo shoot pictures from many of the famous male entertainers who have graced its covers in recent years, all with personalized messages and their autographs. It really is a who’s who of the current crop of hot Chinese and Taiwanese actors, but for the … Continue reading →
When I watch Rich Man, Poor Woman, I’m simultaneously sucked into the action while cognizant that I’m still looking for something more. It’s not anything tangible I can point to, just that I wish the drama was sprinkled with the magic drama dust that enchants and captivates me so I forget I am a viewer. But the positive signs are … Continue reading →
Over the weekend I added to another reason for me to watch Nice Guy. I didn’t need another reason, I was planning to watch this sucker come hell or high water, but in addition to leading man Song Joong Ki and a script written by Lee Kyung Hee, I’ve now discovered one of the other second male leads is Lee … Continue reading →
My first inclination is to make some sort of joke about scandals coming in pairs, but then I realized this is just so oddly timed and the allegations are quite serious that I’m in no mood to make light of the situation. Joo Ji Hoon‘s first comeback drama since his military service discharge (which was precipitated on the heels of … Continue reading →
Cute! And….that might be all there is to it, the upcoming cable drama Panda and Hedgehog starring Super Junior’s Donghae as a prickly patissier and Yoon Seung Ah as a laid back café owner. The drama released more stills and the first teaser which is really a BTS look at the filming of the drama rather than showing actual footage. … Continue reading →
Take this news with a huge grain of salt. Or do as I do, since I’ll believe it only when I see the contracts signed, which might be when pigs fly when it comes to this particular leading man. K-news outlets are reporting that Won Bin, who is as elusive to television for the last twelve years as penguins are … Continue reading →
To the Beautiful You is determined to make me love it. First it casts Min Ho as quite possibly the most perfect Sano Izumi to date (looks and physique-wise, though acting isn’t that high of a bar to match up to since Wu Zun can’t act his way out of a paper bag and Oguri Shun strangely decided to barely … Continue reading →
I won’t even pretend that I care about the new guy idol group Cross Gene, or know any of the other members other than my baby boy, aside from knowing that if the group keeps getting more popular, I’ll keep getting more Shin Won Ho. Yay! This is totally like NEWS all over again, where I could care less who … Continue reading →
