Sometimes I feel like Moon Geun Young is a Summer storm. She pops up suddenly, does her thang, and then disappears without a trace. It’s been a ridiculously long year and a half since she’s done an acting project, and even her endorsement deals are far between. She came back recently as the face of Vita Energy, and I swear … Continue reading →
I know something is even better than my first impression of it when it beckons me for a rewatch. When I watched episode 1 of I Do I Do again, I liked it even more to the extent I felt compelled to scribble down a recap. Don’t take this as a promise I’m recapping this series, but merely that this … Continue reading →
In yet another round of “Which Drama Wins the Time Slot”, the three new horses took off at a mild trot if the ratings for the first episode are any indication. KBS wins the first round as its Bridal Mask with Joo Won garnered a 12.7% ratings on AGB, following by MBC’s I Do I Do with Kim Sun Ah … Continue reading →
Yay for a return to narrative momentum, as episode 13 of Queen In Hyun’s Man finally ties together Boong Do’s time traveling talisman with a boatload of things that could potentially turn out wrong back in Joseon. As Uncle Ben would say, with great power comes great responsibility, right? I say it’s more like with great power comes great consequences, … Continue reading →
Nicky Wu is currently busy filming the wuxia drama Bride with White Hair (which currently looks like a big ole hot mess judging from the first stills and posters I’ve seen), but he continues to deliver really cool and innovative magazine spreads from time to time. The most recent one is titled “Breakthrough” and is a series of split images … Continue reading →
Lee Seung Gi literally rolls from the fire into the flame, wrapping up The King 2 Hearts last week while he’s headed to Tokyo for his concert at Budokan scheduled for June 1st. It’s quite a feat for any solo singer to perform at Budokan (next step is always Tokyo Dome), much less a Korean musician. I’m so proud of … Continue reading →
Sorry if it appeared I’ve suddenly leapt off the Queen In Hyun’s Man runaway train what with the radio silence in the last few days. I was vacationing and for some reason I wasn’t in a rush to watch episode 12. Despite loving episode 11 when I watched it, something felt off afterwards. After I watched episode 12, I finally … Continue reading →
Son Ye Jin has officially launched Summer 2012 for me with her Maldives pictorial for Cosmopolitan Korea. She is so gorgeous words fail me. Every single picture is literally perfection, capturing the mood of the island paradise while evoking the laid back beach spirit of relaxation and contemplation. Now I want a beach vacation this Summer, despite going the Maui … Continue reading →
Oh boy. This isn’t going to be pretty. On a fairly flawless weekend where I wandered around the City in magnificent late Spring weather, eating and loling around to my heart’s delight and only stopping to girl talk left and right, the only blemish came in the form of electing to watch the newly premiered weekend dramas. I started with … Continue reading →
Since Kang Ji Hwan has a movie coming out this month, its no surprise to see him showing up in various May editions of magazines and newspapers to promote Runway Cop. Recently he’s been sporting this odd haircut that is full on top but buzz cut on the sides. I can’t say I like it, but he does change up … Continue reading →
SETTV really is striking while the iron is hot, and right now its daily dramas have been kicking ass left and right. Inborn Pair with Chris Wang and Annie Chen started the trend, and even Vanness Wu‘s Ti Amo Chocolate is continuing the trend. The network has decided to launch a 9 pm daily drama (the others all air at … Continue reading →
In yet another meeting of Koala favorites, Ariel Lin and Kim Bum met up in China two weeks ago to film an ad campaign for the clothing brand Eithtoo. I have never heard of this brand in my life, but now I know it, thanks to Ariel and Bummie modeling their clothes. Good one, formerly obscure brand. Ariel has been … Continue reading →
What more need I say about Jo Jung Seok. This has been a phenomenal two years for him, transitioning from stage to screen almost seamlessly. He was a memorable part of the What’s Up? ensemble, he was a scene stealer in the movie Introduction to Architecture, and we all agree he was perfectly perfect as the earnest Eun Shi Kyung … Continue reading →
