Bu Bu Jing Xin as a story is very well-paced. Not only does it span twenty years in the life of Ruo Xi, the story development reflects her maturation from teenager (cute, immature, and bubbly little girl at the beginning) to an adult learning to navigate the treacherous ebbs and flows of living in the palace and serving the Emperor … Continue reading →
The tail end of 2011 for Korean dramas looks to be all about the cable networks. OCN has Vampire Prosecutor with Yeon Jung Hoon which is getting solid reviews for it’s edgy style, and shortly tvN will be debuting it’s first teen-targeted drama with Flower Boy Ramyun Shop starring Jung Il Woo. jTBC has the heavyweight Noh Hee Kyung-penned Padam Padam: The … Continue reading →
I first posted about Yoon Eun Hye‘s photospread for Dazed and Confused Magazine featuring Calvin Klein here. Those were actually just a portion of the pictures, and the rest have been released now. While not NSFW, it’s nevertheless quite seductive and sultry. Growing up with Brooke Shields and her “nothing comes between me and my Calvin’s” and later seeing Marky … Continue reading →
Vic Zhou is currently in Beijing filming the period movie Saving General Yang, but his completed modern C-movie Sleepless Fashion (formerly known as Live with Fashion) is about to premiere later this month. Co-starring Vivian Hsu and Alan Tam, the movie is about an idealistic fashion magazine editor played by Zai Zai who incurs the wrath of his boss played by Alan … Continue reading →
I still can’t believe I went from recapping zero J-doramas to doing two in one season back-to-back. It was so much fun, even if one got a bit boring towards the end, and the other went crazy before finding its way back sanity and happiness all around. While Zenkai Girl isn’t a drama that will be talked about long after … Continue reading →
Life may be unfair and we aren’t all gifted with Janine Chang‘s legs that go on for infinity, but at least the lady herself is a class act I enjoy watching onscreen as an actress who continually challenges herself and improves in every drama she’s done. For the Fall collection of Edwin Jeans, Janine squeezes herself into the skin tight … Continue reading →
The production of the upcoming C-movie Tong Que Tai (銅雀台) held it’s opening day media event to herald the start of filming. None of the male cast were on hand, but Director Zhao Lin Shan was able to finally confirm and introduce his leading lady to the media. For whatever reason, Yoon Eun Hye will not be participating in this … Continue reading →
Are you ready for epic, folks? We’re talking feel good story of a nation rebuilding after a war, resilient and cute dogs, a snowy harsh environment, bromance up the wazoo, and did I forget to mention KimuTaku? Next week sees the premiere of Nankyoku Tairiku (The Antarctic Mainland) on October 16th, the drama being both the 60th anniversary production from … Continue reading →
If I nominate Park Shi Hoo for hardest working actor in Korean entertainment at this very moment, I don’t think anyone could possibly disagree. Just hours after wrapping up filming for his hit drama The Princess’s Man (I’m not done watching, so don’t tell me the ending or ask me what I think – I love it so far is … Continue reading →
Wow, talk about dropping a bombshell on a Friday. Maybe Johnny & Associates think that fangirls need the entire weekend to weep and wail their sorrow. Whatever the reason, J-ent got a double bombshell dropped on it today with the official announcement from Johnny’s that both Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo are leaving NEWS, which will continue on as a four-member … Continue reading →
These two together redefine the word breathtaking. Newlyweds Eugene and Ki Tae Young took a month long honeymoon to Europe, and while they were in Paris shot a pictorial for InStyle Weddings Korea. I almost forgot to breathe for a second when I scrolled through these pictures. The couple not only look gorgeous together, the love they have for each … Continue reading →
At the risk of getting stabbity, I put away all the knives in the kitchen before attempting this recap. That and also chanting the mantra “don’t forget there is episode 11 coming up” that got me through episode 10 of Zenkai Girl. Could two people NOT communicate any less than Wakaba and Shota? That would be hard to top. Frankly … Continue reading →
Oh no, not again. Breaking news from K-drama land, and it’s not a good one. A few days ago news broke that Kim Jae Won was in a motorcycle accident on the first day of shooting Me too, Flower! Initially the doctor said he needed a few days rest for the shoulder injury, but today it’s been confirmed that it’s … Continue reading →
