How many times have I watched this video? Thank to the awesomer than awesome EternallyxShade, too many times to count, and I’m not even done yet. This just might be the single best Ouran High School Host Club live-action drama MV I’ve watched. Clearly I’m not over my KyoHaru fixation, but from the popularity of this video and the comments … Continue reading →
The Busan International Film Festival opened yesterday and the Korean stars descended on the coastal city to promote their upcoming movies and dazzle in some glitz and glamour. The opening night film is Always (Only You), the romance movie starring So Ji Sub as a boxer and Han Hyo Joo as the nearly-blind girl he falls in love with. Everyone walked … Continue reading →
It must be hard trying to be a boyband in the midst of a breakup when your country refuses to let you breakup. Since announcing his departure from Fahrenheit earlier this year, Wu Zun has nevertheless followed through on his promise to continue with their existing engagements, the most high-profile being tourism ambassadors for Taiwan. The group visited Japan on … Continue reading →
The novel Bu Bu Jing Xin was published on the internet by author Tong Hua in 2006. It was only later that she got a publisher and it was released on paperback. With the success of the drama, the novel has naturally been re-issued. For the 2011 edition, which was just released in a nifty box set above last month, Tong Hua wrote an … Continue reading →
Just when I lavished praise on the cast of Tree with Deep Roots for dressing like the gorgeous stars they are at its press conference last week, and hoping that fashion sense would trickle down to other casts, the gang at Man of Honor’s press conference today had to go and hit me with the baseball bat of fugly. What. … Continue reading →
The cross-border drama train never ceases to chug these days, which feeds into my addiction since I watch dramas from so many countries. Currently in China filming a period early-Republic drama is Jo Hyun Jae on the set of Rouge Hegemon, supposedly coming for a C-movie is Yoon Eun Hye for Tong Que Tai, and now a third Korean actor … Continue reading →
When I saw this recent ad for a Japanese hair care brand Syoss, my eyeballs almost popped out. All I could think of was “OMG, Sawajiri Erika is BACK!” Well, here in 2011 the Japanese entertainment is a completely different actress landscape than back in 2006 when she ruled the roost, but I immediately started having LOL flashbacks to the … Continue reading →
I know my Black & White recaps are sporadic, to say the least. If this was a live-airing drama I’d have a schedule to follow. Since it’s long done airing, it tends to fall by the wayside whenever new dramas crop up and occupy chunks of my time. Recapping B&W was always a pet project of mine, paying tribute to … Continue reading →
I know I mentioned how K-actors tend to be more cookie-cutter in looks and styles, whereas J-actors are decidedly quirkier as a group. Just as I said that, I got my grubby hands on new Lee Min Ki pictures from Vogue Girl Korea and I immediately recalled that he’s one of the few K-actors who is an outlier to my generalization. From … Continue reading →
Now that Bu Bu Jing Xin is over and the entire cast has seen a meteoric rise in their popularity in China, I thought it fitting to take a look at where most of our favorite princes and time-traveling heroine are headed to next. BBJX actually wrapped filming back in March of 2011, so many of the cast have actually filmed other … Continue reading →
I realize that I’m still only in the mood to recap happy scenes in Bu Bu Jing Xin, even if the unforgettable moments remain the ones that wring my tears dry. I’ll likely attempt recapping some of those scenes when I’m emotionally stronger. I’ve come to realize that Ruo Xi fell in love with 8th Prince rather without any logic … Continue reading →
Of all the three leading men in the heated Sunday night competition in Taiwan dramas, it’s hands down Roy Qiu that’s getting the most career boost out of his role as bottom-dwelling chaebol heir Qin Zi Qi in Office Girls. Peter Ho is gasp-inducing and sublime in Ring Ring Bell and Bolin Chen is understated and a perfect foil to … Continue reading →
Sunday nights in Taiwan is set for the next two months or so, with Office Girls, In Time With You, and now Ring Ring Bell all premiering one after another and in it for the long haul of head-to-head competition. I don’t think the current rankings will change at all during its run, with perhaps some minor up and down, with OG … Continue reading →
