This news article I’m about to summarize is pretty inane, but hidden in the sheer asinine text is one important fact – the mainstream TW-newspapers are beginning to report on Vic Zhou and Wu Zun preparing for their roles in the upcoming HK/C martial arts movie Saving General Yang (which I posted about here). I’m always worried that early casting reports, … Continue reading →
I’m not sure if going forward I should be bringing these written previews for Drunken to Love You (the English title has apparently been shortened to Love You, but I’m going to stick with the literal translation because I’ve grown inexplicably fond of the poor grammar of it all). Thats because this is no preview, it’s a full blown … Continue reading →
When I saw the first stills of Park Min Young in her character of a Blue House bodyguard for City Hunter, I flashed back to Chae Rim in her character of a Blue House bodyguard for Rivals, and I immediately started screaming and trying to exorcise the resemblance from my mind. No, I don’t hate Chae Rim (she was actually … Continue reading →
I need to invest in smelling salts. Yes, tubs and tubs of smelling salts, because I don’t think I can survive this trek to May until Lie to Me (and Best Love) premieres. Each new goody literally makes me scream like a four-year old spots the ice-cream truck. If that picture above – the first official couple still of Yoon … Continue reading →
Drunken to Love You held a university viewing party/press conference yesterday, and lead actors Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang took time out of their busy filming schedule to attend the event. What’s notable was that an extended video clip was shown of upcoming scenes from the drama, including a sneak peak at one very steamy bed scene to come. Rainie … Continue reading →
I find 49 Days to be curious drama, one that eschews more standard set ups, but also lacks the comfortable beats. I love how it’s the opposite of makjang, and really very atmospheric, moody, and melancholy. I’m glad I stuck with it, though I stand by all my earlier critiques, because ultimately it’s fixed the problems I had with it, … Continue reading →
Say it. C’mon, tell me you love me. Because I’m bringing you all the first teaser trailer for Best Love! Do you want me to say anymore? How about I translated the dialogue in the teaser as well. Yeah, go stuff your face full of Best Love love. *onomnomnom, man, this drama is going to be so delicious*
Continue reading →[Edit: KeyEast just made a formal statement, and clarified the marriage, divorce, and the fact that the couple did not have any children together] Don’t worry everyone, I’m fine. I’m in a helluva pissed off mood, but could hardly be upset when I find truth is always preferable to a lie. News broke yesterday that actress Lee Ji Ah has … Continue reading →
I’m thisclose to losing all ability for rational thought, which would lead to an inability to write a coherent sentence. But I can care less, because I want moar moar moar Kang Ji Hwan in snappy perfectly tailored suits, please. Lie to Me released additional stills of its leading lady Yoon Eun Hye as well as her co-star Kang … Continue reading →
Jang Nara and Daniel Choi‘s Baby-faced Beauty released its second teaser trailer today. While it’s not as cute and whimsical as the first trailer, and confirms the tone of the drama for me (I see broad slap stick shenanigans coming a mile away), if the execution is breezy and competent, chances are it’ll be a fun drama for some folks to watch.
Continue reading →Truth be told, episode 11 of 49 Days was a damn good episode, one that would have been great if only the writer could refrain from piling on the heavy handed dialogue and narrative constructs. But I appreciate how the story is finally spinning tight enough to feel cohesive, and that the extended set up sequence from the early episodes … Continue reading →
While I may have problems with the execution and plotting of 49 Days, I really do love the story it is attempting to tell. It takes the topics of life and death and actually tries to have a meaningful discussion about them. If anything, perhaps watching 49 Days reminds us all to cherish our life and the things we take … Continue reading →
The amount of news overdrive coming out of Taiwan entertainment is causing me to have some slight blurry vision from reading too much newsprint. Luckily, a look at my goddess Ariel Lin makes my eyes refocus again. GTV‘s upcoming drama In Time With You starring Ariel and Bolin Chen commenced production this week, and I’m eager for the first stills to … Continue reading →
