I can honestly say that this preview for episode 10 of 49 Days has elements I expected to write about 4 episodes ago. Which is to say that this preview contains plot development I actually knew was bound to happen, and really wished it didn’t take so long to finally get here. Before the drama aired I was hoping it would … Continue reading →
I know Spring is here, even if the crazy weather around my parts sometimes says otherwise. I’ll let Park Min Young remind me then, with her latest photoshoot at Jeju Island for the Campagna brand. Apparently it was freezing during the shoot (what with the early Spring chill and sea gusts), but that girl gamely twirled around and modeled her … Continue reading →
I had the oddest drama viewing line-up this past weekend – on one hand I marathoned 8 episodes of President and finished that baby up (without a doubt the best drama so far in 2011), on the other hand I watched the final episode of the TW-drama Channel X (國民英雄) which aired this weekend, and with it ending 5 months … Continue reading →
The first drama out of the gate in the upcoming May K-drama derby will be Jang Nara and Daniel Choi’s Baby-faced Beauty, which premieres on May 2, 2011. While I’m not interested in this drama, I do think it’s premise is cute (about a perpetually youthful-looking woman who pretends to be younger to get ahead), and the cast looks to … Continue reading →
I’m beginning to suspect things always come in pairs around here. Yesterday I posted about the upcoming The Yang’s Clan movie about the 7 brothers, which is bound to drip in excess testosterone. The Yang’s Clan folktale actually does not end with the death/amnesia/be-a-monk endings which befell most of the Yangs’ brothers. The 7 wives, a mom, and 2 younger … Continue reading →
I’m so conditioned to K-dramas now. The day before a new episode hits, even if I’m not salivating in anticipation, I still get those little tiny butterflies that remind me of the possibility that the next episode is going to be awesome and knock my socks off. Oh, I am so K-dramas butt Koala it’s not even funny. Someday I … Continue reading →
When I first heard the casting news, I did a double take, and then had to check five times to make sure it wasn’t some elaborate April’s Fools punk. Of course it’s not, and the reality only makes it more surreal since I can’t fathom how much this movie is going to wallow in bromance manpain and the collective pretty. … Continue reading →
After laying low for the past month or so, Jang Geun Seok looks to be gearing up his activities again. While his upcoming movie You’re My Pet with Kim Ha Neul has delayed its filming due to the recent tragic disaster in Japan, his other projects continue to go forward. His photobook will be released soon, and the picture above … Continue reading →
I wouldn’t have started writing about dramas if I didn’t love watching dramas. I would love to write rambling stream-of-consciousness posts about dramas, but I elected to occasionally write recaps, which are time-consuming, especially at the speed I churn them out. At the end of the day, I want to enjoy my dramas more than I want to write about … Continue reading →
I noticed recently that I’ve had quite a lot of change of hearts about certain TW- actors and actresses I wasn’t very keen on in the past, once I got past my initial apprehension about their acting and actually picked a good drama of theirs to watch. The list is pretty endless – Mike He in Sunny Happiness, Cheryl Yang … Continue reading →
This year’s May K-drama line-up has been causing some confusion with folks, either not sure which dramas are up against each other or when a particular drama is scheduled to premiere. For me, the January dramas were all good but not great (though I enjoyed Dream High immensely), and the March dramas mostly didn’t interest me and the one which did interest me thus far … Continue reading →
After nearly 2 years of being stuck in wranglings with her management company and being unable to act, young acting wunderkind Park Bo Young (who had a startling fast rise to stardom after starring in the 2009 box office champion Speed Scandal) is finally back to what she does best – acting. She’s about to start filming the horror movie … Continue reading →
Basic House Korea released some teaser stills from its upcoming Summer 2011 collection, and I glommed onto them like a cat on cream because its been too long since I’ve seen Moon Geun Young in the public eye. Her hotter-than-ever co-star Won Bin is back as well, but I’m used to not seeing him around much since he goes years … Continue reading →
