It’s confirmed! Oh praise the drama gods, ye benevolent and crazy deities up above. A pairing that I dare not even dream about until a month ago because it seemed so impossible is now officially a reality – the production of Lie to Me have comfirmed that Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan will be the leads for the … Continue reading →
Wow, so a bit of perseverance and some patience really does pay off. This was the best episode of 49 Days to date, with some solid plot developments, character interactions, and wonderfully executed fantasy elements sprinkled here and there. I can do without that Darth Vadar-esque voice constantly broadcasting the remaining time left for Ji Hyun (can’t we have some … Continue reading →
If there was any justice in this world, all nannies would be male and look like Seo Ji Seok. Imma going to take three to go, please – one for each kid, and one for me. What? I need a manny to take care of me, too. A second teaser trailer for the upcoming drama Manny just dropped, and this one … Continue reading →
The preview for episode 8 of 49 Days doesn’t tell us anything of import, but what the heck, at least the characters continue to intersect more and more. Other than Scheduler, I do not like any character in this drama (though I adore most of the actors). Kang is like an 8 year old boy with his emotionally stunted and … Continue reading →
All righty here, I feel like I am in some sort of twilight zone of K-dramas, with SBS the mad puppeteer pulling the strings. News just dropped that Jo Yoon Hee has been cast as the second female lead of the upcoming Mon-Tues drama Lie to Me (which was its original name before it got switched to Sweet Scandal, and … Continue reading →
SBS released a slightly longer preview for tomorrow’s episode 7 of 49 Days. I’m not quite sure if it reveals anything dramatic, but it has more scenes with Han Kang, which always perks me right up. One thing I can say for sure about 49 Days, which is I have no clue what’s going to happen and how OTPs will … Continue reading →
What a fun, fresh, and creative promotional concept coming out of cable network tvN for its upcoming drama Manny. The teaser trailer is out, and (1) it’s totally a teaser, since you barely glimpse lead Seo Ji Seok, and (2) it’s done guerilla advertising style by asking people on the street if they know what a “manny” is – the … Continue reading →
Spring is here, and with it comes wedding season. If you’re married it feels anticlimactic, if you’re single it feels like an interminable slog. But weddings are always great for checking out the bride’s wedding gown, and giving it the thumbs up or down. Many Korean actresses have played brides in dramas, movies, or magazine shoots. I thought it’d be … Continue reading →
Count on Mainland China to overreact to a trend. At the annual meeting of cinematic producers this past week, the advisory counsel apparently set down an edict to (1) halt all adaptions of the Four Classics (which I approve), and (2) frown heavily on the recent spate of time-travel dramas (which makes me LOL until my belly hurts). Really? Tell … Continue reading →
Jung Woo Sung isn’t just in a new relationship (with you-know-who), he’s also making his Japanese television debut next month in the upcoming Fuji TV J-dorama Good Life – Arigatou, Papa. Sayonara. Crap, the title already does not bode well for the happiness meter. The drama is based on best-selling Korean novel Kashikogi by Cho Chung In, which has already … Continue reading →
The first official still from the upcoming movie Only You, starring So Ji Sub and Han Hyo Joo, has been released. Damn it, if one or more people bite it at the end of this movie, I’m going to be pissed, because I can already tell this movie is going to make me weepy, and I prefer weepy stories to … Continue reading →
To no one’s surprise, since these two guys have been on the frontrunner list for what seems like an eternity now, Lionsgate announced this morning that Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have been confirmed as the other two leads for the upcoming movie-adaptation of The Hunger Games. One guess which one is Peeta and which one is Gale? Hilariously, every … Continue reading →
I asked for a game-changer at the end of my recap for episode 6 of 49 Days, and the drama gods may have answered me based on the written preview for episode 7. I do like how ALL the rules in 49 Days are beyond arbitrary and capricious, changing as quickly as the wind. Hey, if you go fantasy, and … Continue reading →
