Okay, I’m old enough to remember when this very idea was done before and how it rocketed a certain actor to stratospheric heights. Cue Stephen Chow in the eternal classic that is HK-movie Fight Back to School and we all just want to see an elite cop pretending to be a high school student don’t we. Well K-drama will be … Continue reading →
It’s coming everyone! One of the biggest S+ budget female lead C-drama productions on deck in the last year has confirmed the premiere date of next week on March 18th. The Legend of Shen Li (Chinese title 与凤行 Along with the Phoenix) starring Zhao Li Ying and Lin Geng Xin will air on CCTV terrestrially while streaming on Mango TV … Continue reading →
This is an unfortunate case of reel world scheduling bucking up against real life timing. The tvN drama Resident Playbook (Wise Resident Life) is the younger version spin-off drama of the hit series Hospital Playlist which had two seasons. Resident Playbook headlines super buzzy young actress Go Yoon Jung and a bevy of up-and-coming younger stars like Shin Si Ah, … Continue reading →
So by all accounts C-starlet Yang Chao Yue was not a very good singer/idol, and I can attest to the same by all accounts she’s a terrible actress. Which leaves the third leg of stardom the fashion and CF industry perhaps her best bet and her agency has kicked off trying to make her happen there. She was in Paris … Continue reading →
So K-actress Han So Hee is going back to the 1930’s Gyeongseong era again as her next drama. She’s in talks alongside Ryu Jun Yeol for a new K-drama titled Delusion adapted from the same name webtoon. It’s set in both the 1800s and the 1930s era and revolves around a painter hired to paint a portrait of a mysterious … Continue reading →

Well it looks like C-actress Zhao Li Ying isn’t content to be one of the top of the C-drama actress list and branching into more prestigious C-movies, she’s also stepping behind the scenes. It was revealed recently that the actress is the executive producer of the just started filming xianxia C-drama Xiao Yao starring Tan Song Yun and Hou Ming … Continue reading →
Okay, this latest full trailer (with English subs below) has fully sold me on upcoming tvN drama Queen of Tears. This weekend cannot arrive fast enough for the premiere! The latest posters and new preview explain how a couple from different background fell in love (for reals!) and got their happily ever after fairytale wedding, only to not stay in … Continue reading →
OMG this is like a bad joke taken too long. Liu Shi Shi got a big career reassurance thanks to her last drama A Journey to Love being a hit and her performance also getting praise. That drama helped other cast members too, with Liu Yu Ning going on to top bill his next dramas and supporting leads from Alan … Continue reading →
So last week the on the shelf for three years period C-drama Eternal Brotherhood (Zhi Chuan) finally aired on Tencent in a typically slow period for C-ent which is right after the lunar new year crush. The drama is a short 24-episodes and is a full blown bromance plus war drama with the three male leads Yang Xu Wen, Liu … Continue reading →
So if this drama is a success it will be a big missed opportunity for original male lead Chen Zhe Yuan for letting billing demands lead to a swap out of him with new male lead Chen Xing Xu. The C-drama Love on the Turquoise Land with Dilraba Dilmurat after a very eventful behind-the-scenes wrangling in February will likely end … Continue reading →
I need to thank dramas for making it clear for me whether I am totally in love or in hate with the cast or preview because then it’s easier to dive in fully or avoid completely. Xianxia C-drama Moonlight Mystique was already on my meh list despite liking female lead Bai Lu I find male lead Ao Rui Peng’s face … Continue reading →
So my last post on the casting for this C-drama ended up being confirmed so yay for a pairing that I am totally onboard with. Youku‘s new period C-drama Kill My Sins (Chinese title Palm of my Hand) will star Liu Shi Shi and Shawn Dou in a S+ budget large scale production. It’s a talent and age appropriate casting … Continue reading →
