I don’t know who greenlit this drama but it’s either going to be the throwback romance longtime K-drama lovers didn’t realize we needed or a pointless retread of tropes that don’t work anymore. I’m hoping for the former when jTBC premieres King the Land in mid-June but even with optimism the first poster and new trailer just looks so cheesy … Continue reading →
This drama sounds EXACTLY like My Roommate is a Gumiho but swap out the Eastern myth nine tailed fox for the Western myth vampire. The first stills are out for KBS Mon-Tues drama Can You Feel My Heartbeat with Taecyeon playing a hundred year old vampire who is thisclose (one day missed) to becoming a human. He loves trying new … Continue reading →
This movie might be the best comeback vehicle Kim Sun Ho after his rapid ascendance to leading man status was halted after his personal life messiness shed different light on his fandom’s push for him to be seen as the good boy type persona. The thriller K-movie The Childe (Sad Tropics) is scheduled for a June 2023 release and stars … Continue reading →
While K-ent is calling out sports movie Dream for NOT being a major breakout hit needed to reinvigorate the lackluster Chungmuro, K-netizens are not buying that argument and the movie production itself seems quite happy with what it’s achieved. The movie starring Park Seo Joon and IU directed by the PD of got over 1 million tickets sold last weekend … Continue reading →
Get ready for some early in early summer because Tencent is reportedly getting ready to premiere Snow Eagle Lord in the coming weeks according to C-ent chatter and looking legit due to the official preview that dropped over the weekend. Going for a snow based drama in late spring/early summer is interesting counter programming but it might help more if … Continue reading →
I think fantasy always sounds interesting on paper but the execution has been spotting in K-dramas. The Beauty Within was amazingly heartfelt but Doom at Your Service fell completely flat, just naming two from the opposite ends of the spectrum. tvN upcoming drama See You in My 19th Life takes the premise of a woman who remembers all her past … Continue reading →
I feel like K-dramas on Neflix has established legitimacy after the worldwide phenomenon of Squid Game two years ago plus the dearth of new streaming fare that any new K-drama that premieres on the platform has a shot of getting curiosity views the first weekend. Whether the viewers stay or more come on will depend on actual quality and recently … Continue reading →
It’s pretty absurd at this point that having been in LA for all of two days that C-actor Wang Yibo manages to generate not one but two controversies already. I don’t think this is an actual controversy in that the brand itself is mad but more like yet another sign that Wang Yibo needs better handlers or at least pause … Continue reading →
In two months it will be the one year anniversary of period C-drama Love Like the Galaxy and it feels like a full rewatch is coming! I had been sporadically returning to C-dramas before LLTG arrived by fast-forward curiosity watching Who Rules the World and The Blue Whisper but it was LLTG that fully got me back on the C-drama … Continue reading →
Some agencies wax and wane in strength but Lee Byung Hun‘s own agency BH Entertainment since it’s launch has been a powerhouse. He’s gotten top actors and actresses and kept them, many of the stars remain loyal and for good reason. Despite having stars who ostensibly ought to be competing with one another for the same type of roles, the … Continue reading →
I’m as surprised as K-netizens upon hearing this weekend that K-actor Seo Kang Joon was coming back from completing his military service. Most people legit forgot he was serving and that’s likely due to him having a K-drama last year Grid airing on Disney+ which was filmed prior to his enlistment. He was definitely one of the go-to drama male … Continue reading →
Another year another poll and this one splits the stars up into age groups to be more fair. A Meta+Survey poll of K-netizens asked who was the prettiest K-actress in the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s and here are the results. Kim Yoo Jung leads the prettiest actress in the 20’s decade with 42.8% of the vote with second place to … Continue reading →
I’m going to have to accept the explanation of Wang Yibo fans that their stan is just having a bad day anything he’s photographed at events absolutely looking like he’d rather be anywhere but there. The explanation ranges from he was up filming all night before to he’s having a tough time recently to he was snapped at the wrong … Continue reading →
