Well come to momma cutie pies! I’m glad the location shoot in Finland is making solid progress for C-drama Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (Into the Storm) with leads Wu Lei and Zhao Jin Mai before it moves back to China because there is so much wintery romance goodness to capture in visuals. The first posters are out for the … Continue reading →
There is a chance that The Glory could become mega-successful screenwriter Kim Eun Sook‘s “best” drama when all is said and done, and that’s a epic feat to pull off. To her fans and detractors alike, she delivers hits with plenty of complaints but viewers tune in. For Netflix drama The Glory, there will never be a ratings number to … Continue reading →
I’m going to chalk this up to the power of Dilraba Dilmurat‘s popularity moreso than her male lead Gong Jun but C-ent fandom experts can chime in otherwise. Period C-drama The Legend of Anle (An Le Zhuan) recently hit 2 million viewer reservations on Youku and the production celebrated with new stills from the drama of the two leads. Usually … Continue reading →
I don’t think it’s intentional as an acting niche but recently Xu Kai has been on a noona conquering warpath in his C-drama picks. She and Her Perfect Husband was probably the pinnacle of that but he’s also done it in xianxia drama Ancient Love Poetry and coming up he’s going for it again in period romance Wonderland of Love. … Continue reading →
Well this is either the biggest melon ever or a whole lotta wishful thinking. Yesterday a rumor started in the casting circles that Bai Lu and Yang Yang would be pairing up for a high profile C-drama called Northern based on a same name novel set in the Republic era which is after the end of the Qing dynasty and … Continue reading →
So the fans of Love Like the Galaxy that have taken to shipping leads Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Si in real life (calling the couple Nowhere to Run or Wu Lu Ke Tao based on their names) were in for a roller coaster the last few days. Over the weekend there was a hot gossip that a top ’95 … Continue reading →
I’m ready to pack my suitcase and travel to drama dream casting land now with the BIG news that Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo may finally work together! And in a romance based drama called Trunk to boot! As long as it’s a real romance story and not a pull the rug out from under you type like The … Continue reading →
Goodness I can maybe just skip over Wu Lei‘s next drama Nothing But You and jumped right into this one like NOW! Romance C-drama Into the Storm has been filming in Finland with both leads Wu Lei and Zhao Jin Mai and there are clearly plenty of Finnish fans doing the drama god’s work for us in snapping pics of … Continue reading →
I feel like SARFT just went on an approval spree recently how else to explain the spate of releases in recent weeks. A new workplace drama arrives this week on February 21st titled Never Give Up but is actually the C-drama adaption of webtoon Gaus Electronics which got a K-drama version last year. This one stars Zheng Kai, Chen Yu … Continue reading →
I’ve been seeing clips of both Three Lives Three Worlds. Ten Miles Peach Blossoms and The Pillow Book on my SNS these days and it’s getting me more in the mood for Fox Spirit Matchmaker, when it does air. Fox Spirit is adapted from a very popular game and manhua series and is one of three dramas in the series … Continue reading →
It’s wild I’m talking about a genuinely well-written likeable rom-com like Crash Course on Romance maybe jumping the shark but I’m really worried it might due to a new and rather last minute subplot being introduced in episode 12. So the whole “who is the killer” story has been sprinkled through this drama well enough, not my fave since this … Continue reading →
So the chatter is on in C-ent fandom of a certain subset called danmei novels (or BL novels) that the unofficial ban on the genre is/may be lifted. Last month a period drama called A League of Nobleman aired that was based on a BL novel and had been filmed for quite some time and was part of the BL … Continue reading →
Seeing this never before seen (by me at least) picture from nearly two decades ago brings back so many memories! OMG this is like right after the Winter Sonata craze and when everyone was still at their start/peak era. A picture has been making the rounds showing five top male leads in K-ent in what looks like a boy band … Continue reading →
