Legends never die and some never even grow old, or grow that old. HK actor Tony Leung, arguably the best actor in his generation and in the entire industry, hit a big milestone this June 27th turning 60 years old. His wife Carina Lau kicked off the well wishes on SNS and many more followed from his HK colleagues. He’s … Continue reading →
K-actress Jang Nara got married this past weekend and it was a closed affair to the media to reflect her low key style and also to keep her new husband from the public as he’s not a star like her. I love that even from the pictures posted by their guests his face is always blocked but I did want … Continue reading →
I don’t know if this is a honeymoon baby but its definitely still a newlywed baby. Congrats to top K-stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin on the announcement that the recently married couple was expecting their first child. Son Ye Jin made the announcement of welcoming a new life and it pretty much confirms that recent pictures of her … Continue reading →
The first promos are out for mid-summer tvN Mon-Tues drama Joseon Psychiatrist Yoon Se Poong, which will take over the time slot from Link: Eat, Love, Kill on August 1st. Starring Kim Min Jae, Kim Hyang Gi, and Kim Sang Kyung in a story that centers about mental illness in the Joseon era and the doctors trying to treat the … Continue reading →
The premiere week of Alchemy of Souls came in at the mid 5% range in ratings which is already decent and with this Saturday’s episode 3 staying at the same spot I thought at least it didn’t drop. Looks like my worry was for naught as episode 4 jumped up to 6.841% and sent this drama to a new level. … Continue reading →
This weekend was the wedding ceremony for K-actress Jang Nara and it wasn’t an open to the media affair so the only pictures to come out are from the SNS updates of the wedding guests. I don’t want to overly pry but I think she would accept that as a famous star there would be much interest in her nuptials. … Continue reading →
I think this news should be taken at face value, it’s neither something to applaud but also not something to read into anymore as future planning. K-actress Kim Sae Ron has been living the legal and public consequences for the past month of her May 2022 drunk driving accident. She plowed into a transformer box on the sidewalk at 8 … Continue reading →
I’ve only recently gotten the appeal of some of the rising and popular young actors from the past 5 years, since after 2015 I really stopped watching C-dramas and without watching it’s hard to like or dislike anyone. So it’s basically with the era of Chen Xiao, Lin Geng Xin, Li Yi Feng, Yang Yang, Zhang Han that I left … Continue reading →
I have the hugest soft spot for idol-actress Suzy but I never go into her new drama or movie thinking she’s going to vastly improve. Incrementally for sure, that’s possible, but a great step forward hasn’t happened yet in her decade of acting. But this may be it, her new Coupang Play drama Anna premiered on Friday and with just … Continue reading →
It’s from one frying pan into another fire for K-actor Song Joong Ki, at least in terms of fictional trials and tribulations. He’s currently filming the K-drama The Chaebol’s Youngest Son where he plays a man who dies at the hand of a rich family and comes back as their youngest son to exact revenge. His agency has announced that … Continue reading →
I may be jinxing it by starting to cover tvN drama Alchemy of Souls more but it’s that rare beast which absolutely fascinates me on multiple levels and the only drama currently airing that I’m emotionally resonating with. The new stills are out for tomorrow’s episode 3 showing Jung So Min’s Mu Duk checking out Minhyun’s second male lead Seo … Continue reading →
The story of Yumi’s Cells is already writ in stone, at least in the webtoon. There are three male leads and the current season of Yumi’s Cells 2 is only on the second man in her life. But rather than feel like a placeholder, Jinyoung‘s Yoo Babi makes it feel like a natural and so sweet progression for Kim Go … Continue reading →
I’m glad Joo Ji Hoon woke up at the end of Jirisan because the whole conceit was weird but I’m glad he’s not shunning the fantasy or sci-fi genres even if some don’t work out. He’s in talks for a new streaming only drama called Dominant Species written by the screenwriter of Secret Forest (Stranger), she wrote both seasons and … Continue reading →
