The live-action part of upcoming K-drama Yumi’s Cells really does overcome the lackluster visuals in the promo stills and poster, once leads Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun are onscreen then their characters look less awkwardly styled and more quirky fashion sense. I think it’s because their natural attractiveness and ability to act comes to the forefront and viewers … Continue reading →
The Song Hye Kyo cover and pictorial for Vogue Korea and its most prestigious September 2021 edition got mixed reception in the first stills released. I agree, she looked good but the styling wasn’t my favorite. She’s since shared the B-side pictures that I love even more, her styling is more relaxed and modern in some of the new pics. … Continue reading →
Haha, I can’t believe one thing can unite C-netizens and K-netizens right now when it’s been the War of the Roses for a few years ongoing and only getting worse. But I guess everyone hates a tryhard and that’s the impression rising K-actress Han So Hee, or at least her agency, is giving off with how hard its trying to … Continue reading →
I feel like this pictorial would have fit even better two years ago when IU was starring in Hotel Del Luna, there her character basically cosplayed rich eccentric along with various other creative touches as she resolutely performed her duties running a ghost hotel. I see so much Jang Man Wol here in the September 2021 Vogue Korea pictorial where … Continue reading →
Man, I’ve long heard that popular drama C-actress Zhao Yi Ling has one of the worst fandoms in C-ent (if not the worst) but now it’s out in the open for the world to see. News leaked on August 22nd (2 days ago) that Zhao Li Ying and C-actor Wang Yibo will be reuniting for a new drama after working … Continue reading →
I found the first official poster for upcoming KBS romance drama Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) bizarrely terrible but thankfully the first teaser swung things back to the positive side albeit in a very one-sided way. Male lead Kim Min Jae is ON FIRE, he totally stole the 30 second teaser with his animated exuberance, and … Continue reading →
The hair has been shorn! It’s officially off to the military for K-actor Jang Ki Yong today on August 23rd, filming wrapped a few weeks ago on his upcoming drama Now, We Are Breaking Up and he’s also pre-recorded the promo materials so he’s good to go. The cast posted a sweet BTS picture sending him off to do his … Continue reading →
Oh this is a cute real life coupling, and seems so uneventful and sweet in a month full of wildly negative news in the entertainment world. Idol and actress Joy from the SM group Red Velvet is a taken girl as the lucky guy is none other than popular R&B singer Crush. I know they both have real names but … Continue reading →
Okay, I totally love the character posters for upcoming sageuk Red Sky (Lovers of the Red Sky or Hong Chun Gi) but probably not for the reason SBS wants me to. I don’t think its any good or visually all that appealing but holy is it great for dissection. It’s like the drama can’t figure put what genre or vibe … Continue reading →
I would pick a crash and burn over just a meh project, at least when it comes to K-drama since the former is memorable and the latter part of the scrum of dramas that come and go. tvN this weekend saw the end of The Devil Judge (Demon Judge), totally primed for ratings and buzz thanks to the cast of … Continue reading →
The pure data analytics available from Google search terms are exactly that, the number of times a word was typed into a search bar and pressed go. No subjectively whatsoever. So it’s definitely been an eventful year so far into 2021 in K-ent (and really in multiple other Asian ent industries) so the recently released Google top search terms for … Continue reading →
Summer is winding down and the beginning of September as kids get fully back into the swing of school there will be a new drama to hopefully inject some buzz into what has been a dull C-drama season so far. Even better is that it changes the bad mojos around popular C-actress Yang Zi who has been in the news … Continue reading →
A cohesive picture is always more telling about a story than just reading a chapter at a time. Perhaps jTBC drama Nevertheless should have been a Netflix produced series where all the episodes drop at once. It never delivered on the buzzy lead hype of Song Kang and Han So Hee pairing up and the push-and-pull dynamics of a realistic … Continue reading →
