Next week is the finale of Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) and it’ll be interesting to see how the drama deals with both historical King Cheoljeong and his situation as well as whether Bong Hwan’s soul will stay in Joseon forever or go back to modern times. I’m fairly certain Bong Hwan is the reincarnated future self of So Young, perhaps … Continue reading →
Every time I hear a drama or movie with a story about weird stuff happening on an island I just think of Lost lol. It’s been over a decade but that island fantasy drama was so riveting live watching and there is still tons of cool concepts to be mined about weird shit on islands. K-actor Kim Nam Gil is … Continue reading →
Hhhhmmmm, this is one adorable pairing that I didn’t even know that I missed and totally realize I need. Kim Sun Ho and Moon Ga Young are the new face in 2021 of NAU brand casual athletic apparel, a smart casting choice as they exude complementary gorgeous wholesome appeal. It’s a reunion for the two as they worked together in … Continue reading →
I think by aging down the leads of River Where the Moon Rises from the first concept when veteran stars were courted for the roles, it will end up having a broader I-audience appeal due to the Hallyu popularity of the younger leads. That’s great because sageuks truly have its own appeal and if done so an unforgettable pathos in … Continue reading →
tvN Sat-Sun drama Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) is now down to the penultimate weekend of airing and I’m back to being more interest solely to see what the writer has in store to wrap up this story. As cheaply and dorkily as source drama Go Princess Go was executed (HOMG the homemade costumes and “special” effects were to be seen), … Continue reading →
Whew, I didn’t realize I was holding my breath but I totally was lol! I want Space Sweepers (Spaceship Victory) to be good because I want to watch a good movie, I hope male lead Song Joong Ki returns to form with a successful project after the mega disappointment that was Arthdal Chronicles, and because it’s a win for all … Continue reading →
Another drama ended this week, and from the buzz (or lack thereoff), it appears jTBC Wed-Thurs romance Run On elicited audience interaction as light in touch as the slice-of-life it was presenting. This one I watched two episodes of and enjoyed it well enough and felt like I would like it more if I marathoned it since there wasn’t anything … Continue reading →
I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth though it’s really surprising to see tvN drop two previews for Vincenzo packed full of footage and different ones at that. It’s nearly 2 minutes worth of visuals and action with plenty for everyone. Song Joong Ki is the mafia lawyer turned South Korean lawless lawyer, and sorry if I’m borrowing … Continue reading →
A new casting news is wrapping up the week from K-ent, that singer-actor Rain is considering a comeback in the small screen. He’s been offered the male lead in Ghost Doctor, which I wonder if it’s the sister series to Demon Judge lol. If Rain accepts it will be his first drama in 2 years since Welcome 2 Life (You … Continue reading →
The cast is set for second half of 2021 tvN legal beagle drama Devilish Judge (Demon Judge), which I feel like has been in the works for a long time but it’s finally got a time slot so that’s reassuring. The leads are veteran Ji Sung and Kim Min Jung, reuniting more than ten years later from their excellent medical … Continue reading →
Upcoming jTBC drama Beyond Evil (Monster) wouldn’t know subtlety if it crashed into it. It’s intentionally selected a promotional approach of making leads Shin Ha Kyun as a beat cop and Yeo Jin Gu as an educated high level detective into polar opposites. I guess the point is that one of them is the baddie and we won’t know because … Continue reading →
High school dramas and especially ones adapted from manhwa/webtoon is usually a niche fan base so ratings are never expected to be winners. But sometimes it gets super low ratings and that’s a bummer. tvN Wed-Thurs drama True Beauty based on the webtoon Goddess Has Descended finished up its run this week as a solid success story. From the premiere … Continue reading →
The new preview for tvN thriller detective mystery Mouse looks heck dark, like plenty of serial killing in the dark rainy night type of dark. Starring Lee Seung Gi, Lee Hee Joon, Park Joo Hyun, and Kyung Soo Jin, the drama posits the possibility that a serial killer gene can be detected in utero and what to do with that … Continue reading →
