I’m not surprised at the confirmation of casting but this drama certainly remains rather unexpected still. K-ent is reporting that big name leads Park Bo Gum and Park So Dam are both confirmed for K-drama Record of Youth after being in talks late last year. They will be joined by rising actor Byun Woo Seok in a drama set in … Continue reading →
Man, this isn’t disappointing it’s just flat out a seminal moment in K-ent, almost a second wave of the Me Too movement of 2018 when many male K-stars were outed to have harassed, assaulted, abused, and even raped women during their career in power. Last year it was the younger stars like Seungri and Jung Joon Young revealed to have … Continue reading →
I truly feel bad for Michelle Chen and Chen Xiao because I feel like the C-media or even C-netizens have it out for them. They are really low key during dating and especially after marriage but the marital trouble rumors have been nonstop towards them moreso than other married C-stars. I originally found the pairing odd but seeing their interactions … Continue reading →
K-actress Im Soo Hyang as quietly but steadily carved out her own niche. Her last two dramas were smaller cable fare but both did well whether it was ratings in Graceful Family or being a cult hit in My ID is a Gangnam Beauty. She’s now in talks to headline the MBC romance drama My Most Beautiful Time by the screenwriter … Continue reading →
Okay, I’ll concede this post has no educational or informative value but for Hyun Bin fans it’s got nutritional eyeball value. After the closing scene of the most recent episode 6 of Crash Landing on You, when North Korean officer Hyun Bin secretly tails his super crush lady love South Korean heiress played by Son Ye Jin while riding a … Continue reading →
Dang, is everyone and their mothers going to be in this drama? Normally when new main lead caliber names are added to a drama casting it means prior rumored leads have declined but for SBS drama Penthouse it’s turning into a circus car because four new names have just appeared and it’s in addition to and not lieu of. Shin … Continue reading →
I find Park Shi Hoo a teflon zombie in terms of sustaining an acting career after his sexual assault scandal years ago that derailed his career at the height of his popularity. Many of his formerly ardent fan sites have closed one by one and yet he plows on, and now he’s likely going back to the genre that was … Continue reading →
If K-actress Jang Hye Jin picked lottery numbers I would follow suit because the lady is winner winner chicken dinner level of awesome in her project selection. I wondered where this awesome actress came from when I saw her in Crash Landing on You playing the rich North Korean mother of the second female lead, her antics in trying to … Continue reading →
I totally missed this but Channel A cable premiered the first new K-drama of 2020, rom-com Touch with Joo Sang Wook and Kim Bora. The drama started on January 3 and airs on Fri-Sat, with the first episodes getting 0.847% and 0.907% ratings. It’s not high but Channel A has been one of the smaller niche networks so clearly it … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly a terrible way to start off 2020 for 10 K-stars. Actor Joo Jin Mo is the first and only so far to go public after reporting a blackmail attempt to the police after a hacker contacted him demanding money otherwise his information would be released. Police have now revealed that 10 stars from actors to idols … Continue reading →
What another victory and another high profile celebration of South Korean film. Director Bong Joon Ho‘s critically acclaimed and box office topping social commentary film Parasite won the Best Foreign Film prize at last weekend’s 2020 Golden Globe Awards. It’s the first time a South Korean film has won at the Golden Globes and it’s about time. Parasite rightfully should … Continue reading →
There’s a new hit drama to kick off 2020 with as the December 2019 premiering TV Chosun sageuk Selection: The War of Women with Jin Se Yeon and Kim Min Kyu is a confirmed hit six-episodes in. It started off at 2.557% AGB nationwide ratings and the most recent episode 6 got 4.226% already. That’s plenty of time for the … Continue reading →
I find personal happiness the most sweet thing to write about with respect to stars. It’s easy to cover professional successes and failures but just straight up good mojos when hearing about a positive personal development. K-actress Han Da Gam (formerly known as Han Eun Jung which is also her birth name) got married this weekend in Seoul to a … Continue reading →
