I’m sorry that I can’t take idol turned actress Hyeri seriously yet, not when her wonderfully natural turn in Answer Me 1988 feels like a lucky shot because everything since she’s back to being bad. Her most recent drama the workplace Miss Lee ended last week and she’s giving the usual post-drama interviews where the topic went to my favorite … Continue reading →
Another year another star-studded charity gala to see what the latest batch of red carpet ball gowns are out there. The 2019 Bazaar Celebrity Charity Gala took place over the weekend with many familiar and famous faces in attendance. Actress Liu Shi Shi made her red carpet return after having a baby a few months ago and chose a straight … Continue reading →
This past weekend was the finale of tvN drama Melting Me Softly and it ended as stupidly as it began. It was just a bad K-drama all around, not one particular element stood out as being the deal breaker much like the screenplay for Vagabond is 100% to blame. Male lead Ji Chang Wook picked it as his comeback drama … Continue reading →
Well, it’s out of the military and into the police for Daesung, for questioning that is. Big Bang‘s newly discharged from military service member Daesung will be headed into the police station next week for questioning on the case of a building he owns being rented out to several brothels. The proprietors of those brothels have been booked and the … Continue reading →
When I hear the actress with the last name Park and the PD of Memories of Alhambra paired with the screenwriter of Doctors of course I’m thinking Park Shin Hye. But this is actually about movie actress Park So Dam who is riding a career high having starred in the award winning the box office winning Korean movie Parasite this … Continue reading →
On the heels of the solo stills of leads Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin released over the weekend, tvN drama Crash Landing on You dropped a third and most substantive to date teaser trailer with all four leads onscreen. Binnie remains the straight man North Korean officer doing training but then changing tones to a comedic meal with Son … Continue reading →
K-actor Kim Woo Bin‘s hiatus from his entertainment career is heading into its third year as he had to seek treatment for throat cancer back in March of 2017. There have been rumors earlier this year of his comeback but nothing materialized, though he reportedly has recovered from the serious medical condition. This latest casting news does have legs and … Continue reading →
This is definitely the celebrity wedding of the year in Taiwan and probably the biggest wedding to have ever taken place in Tainan, one of the smaller big cities of Taiwan. Supermodel Lin Chi Ling married Japanese singer Akira (Kurosawa Ryusei) at the Wu Family Ancestral Hall in Tainan, with Chi Ling’s mother being last name Wu and the kids … Continue reading →
Because I haven’t spent copious hours dissection K-dramas tropes it, okay I’m joking I totally have. But even then I am rather amused at how screenwriters still push the envelopes of the kitchen sink method, and none of the upcoming dramas moreso than tvN romance Crash Landing on You. The solo drama stills of Hyun Bin as a North Korean … Continue reading →
I’m still surprised that my post on the female lead of Extraordinary You got so much response. She’s the central focus of the drama but is surrounded by the usual bevy of high school good looking boys, but in this story narrative with a twist. The characters have their “stage” roles and their “shadow” selves and with that it deviates … Continue reading →
While recent year K-dramas have branched out into fantasy, sci-fi, darker fare, and really a world’s away from the early 2000 dramas that launched Hallyu, upcoming tvN drama Crash Landing on You brings viewers back 20 years into the fairy tale world of the rich and improbable. Son Ye Jin plays a South Korean chaebol heiress who is determined to … Continue reading →
K-ent is reporting that the fully filmed K-drama adaptation of the manhwa So I Married an Anti-Fan is still without a pick up for airing, this two years after it’s done and ready to air anytime. Male lead Choi Tae Joon filmed this drama right before he enlisted in the military and he’s scheduled to be out next year, and … Continue reading →
What I hate the most about the vote rigging scandal is how many devoted young fans feel lied to and angry about this coming to light. I almost wish it didn’t, or that the results of Season 3 and Season 4 weren’t that egregious that even diehard fans revolted and insisted on an investigation. The arrested PD for Produce 101 … Continue reading →
