The upcoming tvN period drama Mr. Sunshine may just raise the bar another notch for K-drama film making, and I’m torn between happy for the industry and sad that this drama doesn’t star my favorite actors and actresses to sweeten the reason to watch pot. With that said, it’s getting near impossible to skip checking this drama out, from the … Continue reading →

That means new KBS Wed-Thurs drama Your House Helper won’t premiere this week despite predecessor Suits wrapping up past week, it will get a one week break and arrive on July 4th. The promos and stills are about as far … Continue reading →

Eeeps, I have concerning news to report for those who are as enchanted by tvN rom-com drama Why Secretary Kim as I am. The drama has apparently switched screenwriters! WTF you may be screaming, but the switch actually happened after episode 2, with original screenwriter Jung Eun Young who did Boarding House No. 24 joined by two new screenwriters Baek … Continue reading →
This is one of my favorite Park Bo Gum pictorials thus far for changing up K-actor Park Bo Gum‘s visuals and in a way that suits him better in this stage of his career. He’s past being the wunderkind rookie and established enough to get offered the male lead role in upcoming K-drama Boyfriend with in discussion leading lady Song … Continue reading →
These days I’m happy when any drama does well in ratings just because it’s rarer and rarer, but when it’s happening to a drama I’m fond of and watching in real life the happiness is compounded. tvNÂ already has Lawless Lawyer doing well still which remains an intense watch, but for summer time lightness and rom-com laughter it’s all about Why … Continue reading →
Casting has firmed up for the K-drama adaptation of the movie Beauty Inside, with a twist that the body changer this time is the female lead rather than the male lead in the movie. The drama has inked Seo Hyun Jin to play the role of a woman who changes forms (man, child, young, old, etc) anytime a trigger event … Continue reading →
I have to say the lure of the supporting cast of tvN period drama Mr. Sunshine is strong indeed. I didn’t feel much for Yoo Yeon Seok before until I saw his drama stills for Mr. Sunshine looking all broody badass warrior fighter. Now comes the final sets of supporting lead stills featuring Byun Yo Han and Kim Min Jung, … Continue reading →
K-actor Song Joong Ki seems to be on a reunion binge, first with news that he’s doing sageuk drama Asadal working with his Tree With Deep Roots PD again, and now news that he’s been offered and is considering the male lead for upcoming science fiction space K-movie Lightning Ship by the director of A Werewolf Boy. While his last … Continue reading →
The filming for upcoming K-drama Memories of Alhambra totally rewinds me back five years ago during the filming days of Heirs in 2013. Fan pictures galore of leads Park Shin Hye and/or Lee Min Ho filming around Los Angeles and Orange County, but this time it feels even more exotic to see Park Shin Hye and Hyun Bin in Spain … Continue reading →
It’s a fiver of big and popular K-stars for at the movie press conference for July summer action flick Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade (Korean title Inrang). Starring dual male leads Kang Dong Won and Jung Woo Sung, the supporting cast adds Han Hyo Joo, Kim Moo Yeol, and Minho to up the ante. After Along With the Gods and … Continue reading →
This story sounds like a reverse Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, and has the allure of being a potential K-drama hit. The popular cross-dressing sageuk webtoon Mung Bean Chronicles has been commissioned for a K-drama adaptation, with this particular cross-dresser being a young man dressing and living as a girl. He chooses to dress as a girl and lives in a … Continue reading →
I’m totally open to second lead ship in Mr. Sunshine though neither male lead really floats my boat. But I remember having no clue who Kim Woo Bin was before Heirs and then suddenly he was just impossibly riveting and won my attention playing a complicated meanie. That may happen again with Yoo Yeon Seok in Mr. Sunshine as he … Continue reading →
