Cable network tvN announced the upcoming line-up for it’s popular Fri-Sat drama time slot which just wrapped up Dear My Friends and will air the Korean remake of The Good Wife starting next week. It’s the late summer drama I’m most keen on, a manhwa to drama adaptation of youthful cohabitation hijinks flower boy laden story called Cinderella and Four … Continue reading →
The first look last week at Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung in Moonlight Drawn by Clouds had me clapping with excitement, it was a picture of the two leads smiling beatifically at each other like no one else was around. Casting leads with palpable romantic chemistry is lightning in a bottle and I loved how these two young … Continue reading →
One of these things is not like the others is my first reaction upon seeing the just released official character posters for the Korean drama version of Bu Bu Jing Xin. The concerted effort to distinguish male lead Lee Jun Ki‘s 4th Prince, from the C-drama version’s understated steely scholar and also from the other princes in the K-version called … Continue reading →
fs A big hearty congrats to engaged and soon to be married star couple Chen Xiao and Michelle Chen, marking yet another cross-strait couple with the C-actor and the TW-actress tying the knot on July 19th. It’s been three years since they met on the set of Romance of the Condor Heroes, the much maligned drama adaptation by trolly producer … Continue reading →
I understand the gut punch reaction of fans to a star embroiled in a scandal in wanting to make problems go away so as to continue to support said star. But that instinctive reaction should not continue if the facts make it impossible to keep supporting said star, and in the case of general drama fans it’s not the star … Continue reading →
I want more of the pictures of Suzy in the latest issue of Bazaar Korea, shipping Suzy off to picturesque Hawaii just in time for a true summer spread. I’ve been following her upcoming drama Uncontrollably Fond intensely from the moment screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee announced the project, the story is what I’m going in for and the casting of … Continue reading →
It’s T-minus five days to the premiere of Uncontrollably Fond on KBS July 6th, a good long year wait for me ever since screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee announced her next drama would be going back to her prime time melo roots after doing weekend family drama Wonderful Days. It’s clear that the casting of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy as … Continue reading →
Is boho one of the summer 2016 fashion trends, or has it simply never gone out of fashion as a suitable style for any summer warm weather days? Sooyoung of SNSD is on the cover and pages of Grazia magazine perfectly modeling the colorful frocks that would actually be wearable even on the average gal. Sooyoung is back on the … Continue reading →
I love cute reunions and this one in particular is a happy wave of early Hallyu nostalgia, and where best to happen then at an event promoting current and future Hallyu. Korean actor and actress Jin Goo and Han Ji Min were the special guests at KCON France earlier this month, jetting off to Paris in early June to attend … Continue reading →
Talk about a stretch on top of a baseless assumption, but it’s all in the day’s possibility when one is as currently famous as Song Joong Ki is. How his name got tied with the current criminal investigation into Park Yoochun‘s alleged sexual assaults on multiple women is beyond me, but even rising young actor Park Bo Gum got dragged along … Continue reading →
The legal process continues for the Yoochun sexual assault allegations, multiple ones now after the bombshell first claim in early June was followed by a second, third, and now even fourth woman coming forth. The police have been investigating the claims and this week summoned Yoochun in for questioning, the first time he’s gone in for direct examination. He was … Continue reading →
This is not quite the melodic mood I was expecting for the first OST to drop on KBS drama Uncontrollably Fond. The singer being Suzy was expected in bringing together her being the drama leading lady and member of idol group Miss A. Suzy lends her vocals to the track called “Ring My Bell” which is light and fluffy and truth to … Continue reading →
It’s good to see the typical K-drama OTP meet-then-fight scene take on a slightly twisty bent in upcoming MBC drama W: Two Worlds, and in slightly twisty I mean reality bending and likely mind blowing. New stills showing Han Hyo Joo freaking out upon meeting Lee Jong Seok is fantastic, showing the energetic side of her character and also laying … Continue reading →
