The second teaser is out for the next SBS Mon-Tues drama Doctors, and so far the drama hasn’t actually shown any doctoring in either of the teasers unless you count pretty people wearing white doctor coats. This new teaser switches the tone and perspective, from reformed former high school gangster Hye Jung to her mentor Dr. Hong Ji Hong. While … Continue reading →
There’s a surprising new C-drama filming that starts off with landing a huge name in K-ent – A-list movie star Jang Dong Gun, one of the original flower boys, is in China filming an idol drama right now. Shocking, I know. Jang Dong Gun’s leading lady is C-actress Tang Yi Xin (Tina Tang), and he gets as second female lead … Continue reading →
It’s been so hard to find event updates with Yoon Eun Hye, once so prominently visible in K-ent but in recent three years nearly without any major project since her K-drama Marry Him if You Dare. The latest news isn’t all that exciting for her drama fans since she still doesn’t have a K-drama lined up, and with the networks scheduling dramas … Continue reading →
I don’t think this will end up being some great debate as much as a fun time to share personal visual preferences. While Korean actors are well known for being intensely easy on the eyes, sometimes their styling onscreen and in real life leave much to be desired – whether it’s visible pink lipstick in character, hilariously awkward ensembles, or … Continue reading →
I’ve always had a soft spot for Nam Joo Hyuk even when he was getting slammed for being unqualified to be the male lead or even getting cast in new dramas. He was never that bad for me, bad meaning sucking the air out of a drama and making me cringe, and his limitations were of the inexperienced kind where … Continue reading →
The K-netizens have spoken in the latest poll conducted of over 15,000 fans, asking which male ’87er was most likely to be a top star the longest. I’ve said long ago that the ’87 class was one of the most talent and popularity packed so it’s the perfect group to do an assessment. Coming in number 1 in votes is … Continue reading →
A walk down is always welcome when it comes to my favorite dramas, those that linger forever like a soft imprint on the narrative soul. The stories that resonated seem a bit timeless even as the people playing the characters move on. One of Taiwan’s most popular and beloved dramas is indisputably It Started with a Kiss, the adaptation of … Continue reading →
SBS has unveiled the very very attractive main cast of doctors in the upcoming Mon-Tues drama Doctors, putting me in mind to fake and illness to get treated by this bunch of pretties. Starring Kim Rae Won, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Kyun Sang, and Lee Sung Kyung, the drama takes over the time slot from Jackpot (Daebak) and turns the … Continue reading →
This Friday night was the 2016 Baeksang Arts Awards in Seoul, with the brightest Korean television and film stars of the year gathered for glitz, glamour and peer recognition. Acclaimed movie director Lee Joon Ik took home the Film side Daesang for directing The Throne and Dong Ju while the Daesang on the television side didn’t go to a person but … Continue reading →
I’ve never watched the critically acclaimed US television show The Good Wife so its K-drama remake doesn’t have an existing hook for me. With that said, this drama is A-list Korean movie actress Jeon Do Yeon‘s first drama in 11 years ever since Lovers in Prague (and a cameo as herself in the 2008 On Air), and this is an … Continue reading →
I’m going to place my bet that there will be a big bounty at the box office waiting for Korean-Chinese movie Bounty Hunters when it premieres on July 1st. The third trailer really hammers home the fun factor, and for caper and chase movies like this fun outweighs the substance so there’s not a huge hill to climb to win … Continue reading →
Can I get a yay or nay vote from readers with respect to this latest makeup pictorial featuring Hyosung of the girl group Secret. I only know Sunhwa from that group since she’s been acting in dramas for a few years, but this Beauty pictorial really caught my eye despite being unfamiliar with Hyosung because the makeup is so striking. … Continue reading →
As the journey of Lost You Forever comes to a close, with it all the various narrative threads are tied up one by one. This is the second to last chapter of the novel, and each chapter translating has been a laborious love affair for me, the love of a well-written tightly constructed yarn and the love of an unforgettable … Continue reading →
