It was a mere hop skip from casting to production for upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Daebak (Jackpot). The drama premieres at the end of March on the 28th so with less than two months to go it’s a good sign that the filming is nicely underway, especially being a sageuk drama that needs higher levels of prepping. The full cast … Continue reading →
It’s funny how even the normally hard to please and abrasive K-netizens are all shooting flowers and unicorns over the insanely handsome male leads casting of upcoming K-movie The King. Starring Jung Woo Sung and Jo In Sung, it’s basically the original flower boy with the second generation flower boy, and may just have needed a Lee Min Ho to … Continue reading →
The entree into K-ent looks to be complete for TW-actor Bolin Chen as he inks the final missing piece in his resume. Bolin will have a guest starring turn in upcoming MBC drama Monster (Tyrant), starring Kang Ji Hwan, Sung Yuri, Park Ki Woong, and Jo Boa. Can I have a hell yeah! This means in the last year alone, … Continue reading →
For those who still have fond memories of hit K-drama You From Another Star, now might be a good time to check an alternate version of it. The K-drama is finally getting television airing in China, which may confuse folks who had heard about it being the biggest thing over there spawning the epic love affair with Kim Soo Hyun … Continue reading →
The drama gods are so good to me this year I need to pinch myself and throw some salt over my shoulder in case it’s all a trick. Upcoming MBC drama Monster (Tyrant) is shaping up to be a monster of a must watch drama thanks to the casting. Headlining Kang Ji Hwan, the drama is now courting Sung Yuri … Continue reading →
The Kang Dong Won “who me?” fashion abomination parade continues onward to the VIP premiere of his latest movie A Violent Prosecutor with Hwang Jung Min. I guarantee he’s doing priceless publicity for this movie because I wouldn’t be writing about it but for his entertaining visual flourish at each and every event in the last few weeks for movie … Continue reading →
Now this is a promising rom-com casting I can get behind, and one that seems able to resurrect some of the ratings disaster dramas that this particular network has been slotting in. KBS is in talks with Gong Hyo Jin and Jo Jung Seok for a summertime romance drama called Incarnation of Jealousy. It’s slated for Mon-Tues, which is currently … Continue reading →
I was all set to root for the various drama setups in upcoming SBS drama Please Come Back Ahjusshi that are outside the norm of typical K-drama tropes. There was going to be co-leads Rain and Oh Yeon Seo, each acting as their own characters and when the souls of veterans Kim In Kwon and Kim Soo Ro are inhabiting … Continue reading →
Lee Jong Seok is currently in China filming period C-drama Emerald Jade Lover with C-actress Zheng Shuang, but he’s considering military enlistment by year end as well so best to strike while the iron’s hot. That’s why I’m not surprised to hear that he’s been offered the role and is seriously considering upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama W. It’s from a … Continue reading →
So Ji Sub and Shin Mina‘s drama pairing in Oh My Venus was actually a long time dream come true for fans of either or both star since their stint as Giordano spokesperson. They managed to elevate simple basic attire into something straight out of a movie set thanks to their visual chemistry, but seeing them act it out in … Continue reading →
I’ve never found Lee Seung Gi conventionally handsome, even if I’m not applying the ridiculously high standards of K-ent when it comes to their stable of flower boy entertainers. But what makes him so attractive to me is his megawatt smile and onscreen charisma whether in dramas or variety, he just has that It Factor and a fun personality to … Continue reading →
I quite like that K-actress Jo Boa isn’t all that popular yet, I feel like some IT things peak too early or for the wrong reasons. Jo Boa has been on the radar since Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, and was one of the best things about the silly Surplus Princess. She went dark for Missing Noir M and is … Continue reading →
How nice of KBS to start off Monday and the first day of February with a nice jolt courtesy of the first official drama poster for upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Descendants of the Sun. What do you guys think? The poster may not be an immediate fave of mine but does combine the two seemingly disparate thematic elements of this story … Continue reading →
