There’s been more shuffling in The Village this week beyond the out-of-left-field casting of relative newbie idol-actor Yook Sung Jae as seasoned actress Moon Geun Young‘s male lead in the drama. I was all ready to just go with that pairing flow since Kim Jae Wook is also going to be in this drama, and I’ve been waiting for him … Continue reading →
I can’t deny that it’s super weird to me to see Yook Sung Jae cast as the male lead of upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Village. I don’t dislike it, as per my post two days ago when he joined the drama, but am merely feeling really clueless as how he got cast as the male lead and not just … Continue reading →
Loving Jung Eun Ji is like appreciating an organic chocolate chip cookie – all natural tasty wholesome goodness. It’s hard to find an idol who is good at the singing and acting in equal measure, though not yet outstanding in either pursuit but good is hard enough to come by I’ll take it as is with her. KBS has been readying … Continue reading →
It’s hard to write updates on Jang Geun Seok‘s career when he isn’t active in Korea and isn’t active as an actor. The combination of both was what got me to become a fan, and in the ensuing years he’s chosen to concentrate his career in Japan, where he’s wildly popular, and also to focus on his singing. His lone … Continue reading →
Thank goodness it’s not going to be three strikes for Korean outdoorwear brand Millet when it comes to maximizing the chemistry of spokescouple Lee Jong Seok and Park Shin Hye. The brand already majorly failed the first two photo spreads, with dull lifeless snaps of the two models clearly taken separately and then photoshopped next to each other. So much … Continue reading →
There’s a teeny update on upcoming KBS drama Oh My God, a title for me that now conjures up connections to the recently finished Oh My Ghost on tvN, what with the exclamation and the exact same initials. Oh My Ghost was a solid hit for tvN so there are worse dramas for Oh My God to be coincidentally associated with. KBS … Continue reading →
This dangerous amounts of smexy hotness should be illegal, or at least come with a warning on it. SBS released the first two official stills from upcoming long sageuk Six Flying Dragons, featuring of course the younger leading man Yoo Ah In. We’ll have to wait a bit more to see older leading man Kim Myung Min, but I’m sure … Continue reading →
Someone’s gotta do it, right? Act opposite Park Shi Hoo in upcoming OCN drama Neighborhood Hero, that is. Yoon Eun Hye already took the charge in being Park Shi Hoo’s first K-ent leading lady since his rape scandal two years ago when they did the Chinese-Korean movie After Love together. This might make it easier for fans of SNSD‘s Yuri … Continue reading →
Rounding the corner is the first big three network prime time rom-com in a good long while, with She Was Pretty taking over the Wed-Thurs slot on MBC from Scholar Who Walks the Night. I think MBC is currently on the same trend when it comes to drama teasers, as the two teasers for SWP remind me a lot of … Continue reading →
Oh lordy, who doesn’t love this precious precocious boy? Yook Sung Jae is having a breakout year thanks to his second male lead turn in school drama Who Are You: School 2015, a nice reminder that it’s not always an automatic loss to play second fiddle when the role in question is juicier. I’m not sure Yook Sung Jae could … Continue reading →
There’s nothing wrong with deciding to watch a drama for any personal reason, however big, small, or totally nonsensical. In the case upcoming MBC 50-episode weekend drama Glamorous Temptation, my decision to watch for the first ten episodes featuring the teen portion for Kim Sae Ron seems like a perfectly legit and safe choice. Usually dramas start off better than … Continue reading →
I’ve been around the K-drama block too many times to expect a weekend drama to not have makjang, even if the teasers are all chuckling hilarity and goofy antics. With that said, I’m still hoping the makjang is in limited quantities with upcoming MBC weekend drama My Daughter Geum Sa Wol, with the story focusing on the humorous lighthearted mood … Continue reading →
Sometimes a delay ends up yielding unexpectedly good results, and that looks to be the case with the arrival of the drama adaptation of Yun Zhong Ge (Song of the Clouds). The novel from writer Tong Hua is one of my favorites even if it’s also the hardest to read in terms of the angst. It’s probably second only to … Continue reading →
