Being married to a celebrity whether in Western or South Korean entertainment means private time is also game for being spotted, so this weekend Song Joong Ki and his wife Katy was out and about in the spring time streets of Rome lending themselves to snaps from photogs. She’s very pregnant and may be due in the coming months and … Continue reading →
I’m glad to see these two together but goodness it brings back memories of the turd-iest turd movie ever the 2019 Chinese film version of Autumn in My Heart. It”s indescribable levels of bad but since it was years before leads Zhao Lu Si and Xu Kai got to their current levels of popularity I’ll chalk it up to dues … Continue reading →
The gumiho brothers and another gumiho femme fatale are going to wreak havoc, or restore order maybe, back in 1938 era Korea (not North and South yet) and as much as I was sorely letdown by season 1 I’m like a dog to a bone and curious enough to check out season 2 Tale of Gumiho: 1938. It helps that … Continue reading →
A Korean movie has been selected for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival next month screening as Un Certain Regard category and it’s one I’ve not heard about until now. Relative rookie director Kim Chang Hoon has found also relative newcoming Hong Xa Bin for this gritty tale and the entire film has an elevated spotlight thanks to top actor Song … Continue reading →
Society demands success after success, its never enough to rest on laurels so it makes the professional life of an actress or actor always chasing the next hit. But for many top stars it should never be forgotten how many successes are under the belt and two of South Korea’s top 40-something same gen actresses made a rare brand public … Continue reading →
I feel like the shock and awe of finding out top K-stars are dating/broke up wears off much faster nowadays compared to a decade ago when stars became more and more comfortably dating in public. News of top stars Lee Jong Seok and IU dating feels like so long ago but it’s actually just a few months and I’m still … Continue reading →
The second season of The Uncanny Counter is coming with the really wordy title The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch. It was the highest rated series on smaller cable network OCN and for the second season will move to the biggest cable network tvN which has confirmed broadcast for the second half of 2023. The news was met with split … Continue reading →
It’s hitting the midway point for xianxia C-drama Till the End of the Moon and so far I’m still entertained but it’s not going to become my fave xianxia drama of all time. Luo Yun Xi is fantastic despite his less than imposing physical stature, onscreen he’s commanding a strong presence and that’s all that matters. Bai Lu is radiant … Continue reading →
For the upcoming 2023 Baeksang Awards held next week, the K-drama race for Best Actor is really Lee Sung Min‘s to lose with maybe dark horse Son Seok Gu, and Best Actress is a two way slog between Park Eun Bin and Song Hye Kyo. But for the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories, pundits are saying it’s a genuine … Continue reading →
Oh man this sounds potentially amazingly entertaining. A new K-drama is coming that will make K-actress Choi Ji Woo‘s return to acting after a few year’s hiatus post marriage and having a baby, though she had a few cameos. The drama is called Double Spy and will costar Kim Myung Min, with the two playing ex-lovers who join forces to … Continue reading →
What a terrible news to hear today and no matter that this has happened before it’s always so heartbreaking. Today K-ent has lost another music star as K-pop boy group Astro member Moon Bin was found deceased in his home. I only know of Astro as member Cha Eun Woo’s group since he’s acting a lot but the other members … Continue reading →
I thought maybe Ask the Stars would air in 2023 but it’s looking like 2024, and hopefully not as long as 2025. The drama production confirmed this week that it wrapped filming on April 12th and I was floored because I swear this drama has been filming since forever and I thought it wrapped already. So it took a good … Continue reading →
