Filming has wrapped for the movie version adaptation of popular fantasy period romance novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, but finished with filming doesn’t mean it’s going to hit the screens faster than the still in production drama version. This is one project I’m very excited about for atypical reasons, I actually didn’t care for the source … Continue reading →
There are myriad reasons to be interested or disappointed with any upcoming entertainment product due to it’s previews, but the most substantive has got to be the simple reason that it looks awesome or totally stupid. Gotta give famed Japanese director Miike Takashi credit for tackling the live-action adaptation of popular sci-fi shonen manga Terraformars, too bad the first preview … Continue reading →
I’m loving this sweet and classy trend in Chinese cinema, which I first saw last summer but may have started even earlier than that. HK actor-producer-director Stephen Chow‘s top secret new movie The Mermaid premiered over lunar new year weekend in China and proceeded to shatter all premiere weekend records by a long shot. I figured it was only a … Continue reading →
All hail Asian box office legend Stephen Chow – it’s incredible how he has reigned over the Asian box office for three decades now and done it through transformation from leading actor to producer and then director. This past weekend was Lunar New Year eve which marks the biggest box office weekend for the Chinese box office, even bigger than … Continue reading →
Filming is underway for the C-movie adaptation of popular fantasy period novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, and the early conceptual and costume fitting stills featuring female lead Crystal Liu are stunning and exquisite. I have no doubts male lead Yang Yang, who looks like an Asian marble god statue come to life, will look just as … Continue reading →
In all my recent barrage of posts about Kang Dong Won‘s scene-stealing fashions while promoting the K-movie A Violent Prosecutor, I actually never discussed the movie even though I figured it would do well at the box office since the other male lead Hwang Jung Min has been on a slaying roll the last two years with wins. The movie … Continue reading →
The stars were out at the VIP premiere for indie Korean movie Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet, and the presence mostly skewed young thanks to the headlining star that is Kang Ha Neul. Kang Ha Neul had half of his Korean Bu Bu Jung Xin onscreen brothers on hand to support him from Lee Jun Ki, Hong Jong Hyun, … Continue reading →
It’s funny how even the normally hard to please and abrasive K-netizens are all shooting flowers and unicorns over the insanely handsome male leads casting of upcoming K-movie The King. Starring Jung Woo Sung and Jo In Sung, it’s basically the original flower boy with the second generation flower boy, and may just have needed a Lee Min Ho to … Continue reading →
Casting is complete for upcoming Korean movie The King, and it’s certainly a royal cast of established stars and latest It finds. The movie have two leading men in Jung Woo Sung and Jo In Sung, either of which can and has headlined plenty of movies on their own star power. But that seems to be the trend these days, … Continue reading →
I think Kim So Hyun is raking up all the most promising young actors around her age group, and no one is blinking an eye other than wanting to throw even more at her. That goes to show how universally acknowledged are her acting skills, and how beautifully she’s grown into a teenager suitable to pair up with near age … Continue reading →
Talk about a long awaited pairing of flower boy actors across a generation. The upcoming dramatic movie The King has finally finalized casting and landed two A-list actors to boot. Jung Woo Sung and Jo In Sung will be headlining the movie to start filming later this month. This movie has been in the works since middle of 2015, and … Continue reading →
Count me in among the group of Kim Soo Hyun fans who are happy that the insane hype around him is slowing down. Even if he’s still crazy popular in Korea and overseas, the intense scrutiny over his next project after the astronomical success of You From Another Star was basically setting him up to not reach anyone’s expectations. Except … Continue reading →
I know Christmas is passed but hopefully everyone has been good and in the mood for extra pretty presents. The cast of upcoming sageuk movie The Joseon Magician is pulling out all stops to promote the movie ahead of its December 30th premiere. And by pulling out all stops, I mean parading leads Yoo Seung Ho and Go Ara around … Continue reading →
